4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle. Pours a black body with a finger-width, creamy, brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a lot of lacing. Aroma is sweet and bready malts, soft roasted grains, mild coffee, and a good amount of chocolate. Some light fruits, but mainly a bold porter aroma which I really like. The flavor is somewhat slow and light at first, but immediately explodes towards the middle and finish with loads of aftertaste. The initial flavor is sweet caramels before yielding to a big, rich chocolate and roasty taste. Nice additions of coffee and woody hops that really come through in the finish. Really bold flavor. Dry finish and a very roasty, somewhat smokey aftertaste that lingers for quite a long time. Palate is medium to full bodied with a light carbonation. Overall, this is the flavor I look for in a porter. Packs a punch. Not extremely complex, but loaded. Great.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
355 ml bottle bought at YATA in Grand Century Place, Mong Kok.
Clear, deep cola blackish brown colour with scrappy bits of yeast sediments; Half finger head and beige foam which fades in 30 seconds; Small sticky lacing and almost no carbonation; Fragrant sweet aroma of roasted malt, with chocolate, cream, vanilla, caramel, soy sauce, sugar, light toffee and very light grass; Medium sweet taste of dark roasted malt, with strong black coffee and nuts, cream, burnt toffee, chocolate, soy sauce, strong liquorices, citrus and grass; Light body, watery palate; Taste profile is very roasty and nutty dark malt, surrounded by strong mocha and burnt toffee, plus bits of soy sauce. Despite the thin body, tastes are pretty intense and rich. Ummm… Hoppiness is light in nose but strong citrus and grass in taste. Liquorices is somewhat masked by the burnt toffee but still has a astringent, lingering bitter finish; Wet after taste, quite astringent to mouth.
Comments: A pretty rich and intense Porter, despite its watery body. Good mocha, and nutty nose and taste, and that burnt toffee seems to complement the hoppiness quite well. Good balance of bitter and sweet. A nice one!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Flavor is mostly coffee and chocolate. The sweetness and bitterness are both very moderate. Light to medium bodied. Could use some more roasted malt. It’s pretty good, but I like my porters a bit heavier.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours black coffee, movie malt balls aroma, a nice medium-bodied middle palate balance of hops and malt, finishing clean and surprisingly lighter than I expected. At 5.1 ABV, this is a session porter to enjoy.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft @ BeerTemple. Pours a very dark, almost black beer with a small beige head on top. Aroma is mostly chocolate and caramel with a slight touch of mocha and coffee. Flavour is mildly bitter with sweet chocolate notes. Mocha is there and noticeable in the sweeter side of this beer. Medium short, slightly sweet aftertaste. Quite nice actually.
