UPDATED: MAY 17, 2005 Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Dark ruby. Surprising cherry aroma. Dry and fruity with notes of butterscotch. Clean but soft malt character with lots of cookie flavour. Lingering resiny, very bitter finish.

Draft @ Taco Mac Metropolis, Atlanta, GA. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy aroma with weak hints of caramel. FRuity malty hoppy bitter caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter citrus finish.

(Draught at Flying Saucer, Addison) Pours a cloudy chestnut brown with mahogany highlights and a moderate tan head. Aroma of citrus, bread, cocoa, and caramel. Flavor of citrus, pine, and malt.

(draft) Hazy chestnut body with off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, some caramel, light herbal. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit, some caramel, light pine -- nice bitterness. Medium body, some resin. Very enjoyable hop bomb.

Reddish amber ale with a thine white head. Very pleasnt sweet malt, with notes of pears and vanilla. In mouth, a sweet malt with strong butterscothc, hops and apple sauce. Light alcohol warmth. Medium bodied. On Tap at Blue Tusk, Feb.3, 2006.

Draft... Cloudy, brownish amber ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Decent retention. Spruce and grapefruit aroma with a good amount of caramel. Moderately bitter (grapefruit rind), earthy, resinous flavor. Medium-bodied and astringent with lively carbonation. Finishes bitter and bone dry.

On tap. Poured a dark brown color with a smaller off white head. Aromas of pine needles and light grapefruit (nice and hoppy). Tastes of pine, grapefruit, caramel and oranges. Malts in the taste in addition to the hops.

Tap at Barcade. Very dark brown/black beer with a thin brown head. Listed as a doppelbock at the Rogue event @ Barcade, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Very dark brown/black beer with a thin brown head. the aroma is of allspice, faint dark chocolate and a nosefull of grapefruity hops. Flavour is a total hop bomb. Pine/resinousness and grapefruit with some softer orangey/woody hops in back. The hops completely dominate the palate on this one as well. Incredibly resiny rough bitterness. It’s tasty enough but I feel like I’m missing some of the maltiness that I probably would have enjoyed.

Dark amber, nice off white head. Wonderful aroma from cream, toffee, vanilla and some milk chocolate, along with hops and grass. Nice mix in the flavor. Some vanilla and malts at first, then it turns clrealy hoppy. Nice balance and with a good body.
