COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A lively seasonal ale, assertively hopped, dark in color, and festive in taste. Debuting in November 2009, in honor of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. Brewed with 2-Row, Munich, C-120, C-150, Kilncoffee, and Carofa’s Special 2 malts. Hop bill comprises Newport, Horizon, Simcoe, Continental, Crystal 90, Amarillo, and Rogue Farm Willamette. Free range coastal waters and top-fermenting Pacman yeast complete the recipe. No chemicals, preservatives, or additives. 16.5P, 68IBU, 77.7AA, 36L.

On tap in Newport at Rogue’s Brewpub on the Bay. Great India Dark Ale aroma. Balanced sweetness and bitterness with some roasted malts thrown in. Nice long bitter finish. Tasty.

Roasted malt on the nose. Starts smokey and a little limp. Long pleasantly bitter finish. Nice but not great.

Sample at the 2012 Cincinnati Brew-haha. Brown color, nice khaki head. Light and crisp carbonation, easy to drink. Light body, light bitter taste. Nice hop and light spice aroma. A not-bad hoppy winter ale.

On tap at Beer Temple. Dark brown body with med head. Nose of malts and roast. Taste of malts, dark caramel and lots of licorice. Bittersweet. Enjoyable.

On tap at UJ’s. Pours a dark reddish brown with tan head. Mostly pine, with some nut, roast on the backside. Moderately bitter. Crisp body. Very drinkable.

On tap. A clear dark red-brown colour with a small, light brown head. An aroma roasted malt, caramel and fruit. The taste is light sweet and medium bitter. A medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation and a medium long duration.

In tap at the Knick. Wonderful fresh hop aroma, with floral and fruity notes, roasted barley and brown sugar. Mild smoky tones. Coppery dark brown clear with thin off-white head. Medium heavy body with medium to heavy carbonation. Starts with medium sweetness and roasted barley. Coffee and molasses with a ton of hops. Bitter roasted finish with lasting bitter. Nice ale.

Finhead (653) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - JAN 27, 2012

A deep red pour with a frothy, tan head. The aroma has bread, some caramel, and a touch of pine. The body is on the light side with average carbonation. It has a mildly bitter taste that is actually kind of smooth despite a slightly roasted, semi-dry finish.
