3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Served on draft at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear, dark reddish amber with a medium sized, dense, creamy tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Faint hoppy aroma with a bit of chocolate. Taste is odd, a hit of dark roasty coffee at the beginning which is then dominated by bitter, dry, leafy hop notes. A bit of dark chocolate too. Medium bodied. Strange beer, and I find I’m liking and disliking it simultaneously.

Tap at Muddy Pig. Pours a deep orange red color with a medium head. Flavor is intriguing, combining chocolate roasted malts and mild sweetness with an ipa like finish. This beer seems to have a little bit of everything going on, not bad.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured a dark reddish/brown with a medium sized off-white head. Nuts, caramel, and sweet malts. Taste is smooth and hoppy with a slight creaminess. Grassy notes. Initially sweet and transitioning to a bitter caramel finish. I like this beer almost as much as I like moguls (a lot!)

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
(Draft) Hazy darkish amber pour with a bit less than a finger of light yellowish-biege head. Aroma of caramel, toffee and light hop fruitiness. Mouthfeel smooth although with slight prickliness. Nice amount of heft in the body. Light, webby and fairly sturdy lacing. Flavor of caramel and toffee, lightly toasty with some fruitiness overlaying and a medium bitter bite in the finish. Slightly buttery. ABV quite well-hidden. Nice-looking, pretty tasty beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. So when you get this beer poured out for you in a bar you might ask, "is this a stout?" Upon closer inspection you will perhaps notice that it is not and is rather just a rather dark winter oriented ale. But the head looks nice and all sorts of creamy and all. Aroma is kind of weak at first and not very impressive, but within it there are things, par example: earthiness and the roasted malts. The the taste; it is good. You get roasted malts, a moderate hops backbone, along with some caramel and brown ale type flavors. Has to be an American Strong Ale because this is really a beer without a genre or style. It is its own thing. Strong brown ale... maybe, but not quite.

On tap at Brewforia, thanks Rick. Pours a dark brown color with a medium beige head. The aroma is sweet citrus hops and rich caramel. A similar flavor; smooth rich pine, citrus hops loads of caramel. Clean and tasty. Another solid brew from Rogue.
