3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma- citrusy delicious amarillo hops all the way.
Appearance- somewhat transparent dark brown. may be a bit light for a CDA/Black IPA.
Taste-delicous fruity taste from late hop additions. malty sweetness and some roast characters
Palate- medium to light bodied with a slightly bitter finish.
This is one of my favorite winter seasonals from the pacNW. Not as bitter as many of the other black ipa/Cda’s out there. The wonderful amarillo hop aroma is what truly does it for me. well crafted

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Bev 4 Less: Poured a dark shade of brown while a thick frothy layer of head rested up top. The aroma is dominated with the scent of hops, however, just enough roasted malts shine through and clearly distinguish that this is not an ordinary IPA. As for the drink, flavor is extremely well balanced between the dark malt and citrus like hops and really compliment each other nicely making this one of the better yet more tame black IPA’s. Finally Rogue released something that was worth my while.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very aromatic. Sweet. Lots of carbonation. Very malty. Unique, indeed...not sure what to think of this but definitely good.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pouts a reddish dark brown with a one finger tan head which fades to nice lacing. Aroma is of citrus, pine, coco nibs, toasted sweet malts, and some spices. Taste is about the same as the aroma. Has a medium body body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and a semi bitter, medium finish. Overall, a pretty nice, festive black IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at Moriartys. Clear reddish brown pour. Off-white head. Very bitter malty brew. Burnt orange peels. Cherry stones. Green peppercorns. Chocolate nibs. Varnish. Big bite for such a relatively low ABV. Did not like it at first but its growing on me.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark brown with red tint and off white head. Aroma is pine and citrus. Taste follows nose with emphasis on bitter grapefruit. Good beer. Not sure what I would lable it, but did not seem like a black ipa to me.
