22 oz bottle poured into a cheater pint glass A: tan, somewhat murky, foamy off white head with fair retention, reduces to a lacing cap that rings the glass S: hop aroma punches the nose with pine and citrus T: more well balanced than the nose would indicate. Still packs a piney punch. M: drying and prickly, medium bodied

Draught @ Beer Temple. More hazelnut than black IPA. Nice cinnamon head. Strong roasty-toasty caramel nose. Taste is tad bit sweet (considering the above), with a bitter finish. Like burnt espresso. Still quite pleasant.

On draught at Rogue. Dark brown color. Aroma of roasted malts and some citrus. Nice citrus hop kick melded with the dark malt flavor.

Countbeer (2856) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - APR 18, 2013
Draught: Medium sized, light beige creamy colored foamy head on top of a haY red ruby colored beer. Aromas of chalk, malts, amber malts, orange, toast and bread. Flavours of some toast, light liquorice, watery, some chalk, wood toast and bitters. Aftertaste of bitters, toast, malts, light herb and floral tones. Low carbo, soft watery mouthfeel, medium bodied and a light watery/creamy texture. Strange BIPA and a 92?

Draught at Bishops Arms Avenyn, Göteborg. Very dark brown beer with a nice offwhite head. Hoppy chocolate aroma, caramel, perfume, hay, grassy notes. Licorice, roasted, some fruity notes. Bitter hop flavor, perfume, metal notes, rather thin bodied. A bit of a disappointment considering I usually really like both black IPA and Rouge.

SF rogue: dark red brown pour, slight head dissipates quickly. Complex aroma, sweet and fresh. Fairly carbonated first sip. Hints of coffee chocolate, and fruit. Like it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a cloudy caramel colour. I dont get how this is a black ipa. Nice vanilla and corn syrup aromas. Sweet vanilla flavours at first then the hops come into play. Bitter finish. Nice.

Thanks to cards04 for this. An unusual black IPA. I almost get a malty barely wine from this, though there are some hops going on here as well. Black in colour, but kind of barley wine in flavour. Enjoyable whatever it its.

Draft @ BA Avenyn. Pours cloudy dark mahogany with red tines and ni e bige head leaving lacing. Aroma is heavy malty raisins driead fruits sweet fruity. Flavor is bitter dry malty hoppy fruity, a bit one dimensional I’m afraid. Finishes longlived bitter malty and dry.
