3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at GBBF 2013. Pours a deep black/brown with a tan head. Nice aroma of chocolate cake, coffee, vanilla and a touch of spice. Medium body. Chilli is at the fore - very spice with a good chilli heat. The coffee, vanilla and chocolate are there too but I found the chilli almost overwhelmed everything else. OK.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask gravity at GBBF 2013. It pours dark brown with a minimal beige head. The nose is roasty, chocolate, caramel, sweet mocha, earth, cocoa powder and treacle. The taste is bitter-sweet, chocolate powder, earth, decent bitterness, chili pepper, warming and an alcohol kick with a dry, warming finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Fairly one-dimensional, but OK for what it is. Decent novelty beer.
