3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. The pour was a hazy dark yellow with some light brown undertones and a large (2-3 finger) white rocky head that reduced down to a small cap of foam, which produced some excellent streaky lacing.
The aroma was of a light bread malt, a mild citrus hop and a sweaty yeast with notes of honey, citrus (lemon), wheat, a hint of spice and a mild floral scent.
The taste had a lightly sweet wheat flavor with notes of honey and coriander early on and then flavor progressed into a much larger yeast taste with a hint of citrus, a touch of spiciness and a slight floral presence at the end. The flavor lasted and average duration after the swallow with a citrusy, yeasty, mildly spicy taste left to linger.
Mouthfeel was light in body and watery in texture with a good strong lively carbonation.
Overall a very tasty and refreshing yeasty brew that had a touch of spiciness and a nice floral twist, in fact this is what makes this beer different over other Hefeweizens...

2.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Clear golden with a big, bubbly, off-white head. Noticeable rose petals in the aroma, which is fortunate, because I feel as though they are trying to cover up an aroma that is otherwise grain, cheese, and honey, or grain, cheese, and vomit. The cheese element doesn’t even smell like actual cheese. Instead I get the easy cheese phony stuff that comes in the can with the nipple you push to get at your phony cheese. Taste is a little sweet and a little cheesy and very mildly bitter; and lacking most of the ez cheeze/vomit character, it is the sole redemption of this beer. Fairly light bodied with semi-lively carbonation. I feel like this could have been done better....

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a weizen glass. Pours slightly hazy golden with small white head. Aroma is grainy, medium body, low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is estery malt, grainy, rose petals, and slightly bitter crisp hop finish. Mediocre, especially for the price.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pour is a hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is your typical wheat malt with a definite rose water there. Flavor is just a basic wheat malt base with not much after that. The rose in the aroma is totally lost in the flavor. Maybe a little rose perfume toward the end. Odd that this version has a lesser score than the base version.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
OK, it is refreshing, but if you are searching for a style category, you will be disoriented. It is a little hoppy and thin for a hefeweized. There is a certain funkiness (maybe the Pacman yeast) to the nose as well. Oddly enough, the towering head is rather bitter. Here is where you will find the rose petal. Take a big gulp of the head and see for yourself! The color is good and a little cloudy. The nose is a little weak for a wheat beer, especially a hefewiezen. But it’s not terrible. The taste is mildly sweet with a rather grainy dry finish. Body is light and bubbly. The bottle I had was a bomber. The large bottle prohibited a single pour to add the yeast to the pour. This left the first serving light and the second serving heavy. Lots of floaties in the sediment. The beer improved after the addition of the sediment, too. More body, silkiness but overall still a little rough. It’s an interesting beer, but I think they are trying to do a little too much with a style that is better when brewed right up the middle. Every beer does not have to be a home run. A one-run single is pretty good and accomplishes the same thing. Try to brew a hefeweizen that rival Sierra Nevada’s or one of the better German hefe’s. We all would applaud that.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pearlesent yellow with a ring of white head. Smells like a wet basement with a bouquet of roses in the corner. A sour dough scent that gets a little floral wet rose. Fades a little banana wheatish.

Slight floral essence to what is a weak kristallweizen. I expected better from Rogue...

Bomber. Light gold with a white head. Floral and bile aromas (like the smell that hits your face while yacking in a toilet bowl). After all that, it tastes pretty great.
