3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours with a large long lasting light tan head. Aromas of plum and raisins. Lightly oxidized aroma enhance the dried fruit aromas. Fruity as as expected with a light American hop finish in the aroma. Flavors match aroma, oxidozed sherry like with a plum/prune rasin quality. Bitterness is present but balances the Special B malt character.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
650ml bottle pours an amber brown color with a 2 finger white head that settles down to some nice lacing. Aroma is caramel malty sweet with a nice blend of hops. Taste is quite bitter with some mellowing from the grainy malts. Medium bodied with adequate carbonation. Full flavored ale that is very refreshing and easy to drink despite the high ABV.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
2007: 22oz bottle...
Colossal ice cream float had. Deep, hazy dark red. Lots of carbonation, and a massive icy lace.
A very pungent malty (almost Belgian) smell. Spicy but very dark and very nutty.
Heavy roasted malt. Quite a sour accent. Hops are there but in the background. Has a sweet/sour mix of toffee. There is a taffy/caramel element. A bit much. Strong.
Thick and creamy but bubbly. Stays on the tongue long after. Really thick. Formidable. It tastes good but is very strong. Both sweet and pungent.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a hazy with fine particulate softly carbonated and a fair lacing. The smooth aroma was brown malt and dark malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a biting aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of mild hops dark malt and brown malt. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours amber with a thin white head. Smells of nuts, dark fruit, residual sugar, molasses. Tastes of roasted malt and spicy with lots of fruitiness on the finish. Not at all what I was expecting.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Red / orange brew that poured a weird coloured head that somehow appeared greenish brown, then just settled into a tan colour with ok retension and almost zero lacing. My second pour was much rougher and produced a nice thick cap that left a huge ammount of lacing everywhere. Aroma has lots of fresh fruit - mainly some dark nutty fruit and grapefruit, slight spice, good ammount of floral tones, slight malt, root beer? grape gum? I swear I keep noticing chocolate here and there...Taste is per the usual with Rogue - grapefruit and bitter and the usual malt content but this time the noticable malts were quite rich and roasted. The roasted malts that really come out when qutie warm but still get hammered down by the bitterness, which is becomming qutie a drag with these Rogue beers, I mean, does every single beer have to be like this? You get a Rogue in whatever style and itís always heavily hopped to the point where one should wonder why every style needs this.....I digress...Nice sour and spicy bitter punch that really sticks to the roof of your mouth. Smooth beer that is just a bit thicker than medium bodied with tons of soft carbonation. If you let it get almost room temperature, then and only then can the malts dominate the aftertaste. Like most Rogue brews this one is packed with flavour and always highly drinkable and only recieves above average marks due to the complexity that can be found during a lengthy consumption period. Iíll add that the malts are quite tasty

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
"Better then average looking beer but kind of boring, brown no visible floaties, with half inch of head and had amazing retention. Aroma is sweet but also bitter there is very mild but very noticeable alcohol, the warmer it got a sour wood like aroma starts to appear. I think I just figured out that the sourness is hops. I like this aroma itís not over powering or even that good its complex and interesting, Iíve been sniffing for 25 minuets now. Mouth feel is light and crisp and has some very nice carbonation. Tasty bitterness very mild hoppiness and great tasting malts, lots of earthy tones with a mild alcohol finish, light and refreshing sweet and crisp. I like this brew you can drink it any time but its still dark and flavor full. Review done while watching Canadaís worst handy man."
