2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 MarinaMarket (159) - POULSBO, Washington, USA - JAN 26, 2012
Aroma from the neck is malty and horsehair. Pours very dark red with a nice tan head. Aroma is herbal, candy, with a hint of butterscotch. Flavor is mild, tinny, lightly sweet, and slightly bitter on the finish. Very metallic and a bit salty. Body is light to medium. I don’t see any kind of date on the bottle, but I would assume this beer is way past its prime. Tasted from the bottle @ 55F. Edit: As it warms up, I also get quite a bit of butter (61.4F), although it is smoother and more balanced.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 maneliquor (1005) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JAN 24, 2012
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours almost pitch black with a small, dense off white head. Barely any nose. Just a bunch of roasted malt and nuts. Excessive, burnt and charred malts surround the mouth. Blows away any other tastes that might have come through. Big spritz of carbonation on the finish and stale malts. Below average beer

Poured dark brown with a big tan head. Aroma was nutty, butter, and hops. Taste was nutty, some hops, and an odd soy flavor. By far my least favorite Rogue offering.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 glennmastrange (1544) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - JAN 10, 2012
Bottle. Moderate malt notes of toasted cereal, roasted nuts and a hint of bitter chocolate, light herbs for the hops, with notes of wood and black pepper in the background. Head is large, frothy turning rocky, tan with fair lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is hazy dark mahogany. flavor starts moderately acidic and the long finish is moderately to heavily bitter. palate is on the lighter side of medium, watery witha lively carbonation. Some nice aromas and pretty simple in the flavor, it’s still a very easy drinking Alternate Grain Ale
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Pinball (7770) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 12, 2011
Clear brown, huge smooth light brown to ofwhite head. Why call a beer black something when it is not black at all. nutty and buttery aroma, malty, herbal.
flavor is malty, flowery hoppy, very mild, faint, roasted note, faint metal, reminds me of the better Danish macros, I’ve had much better beers from rogue. However, I guess it is fine if You feel like an "ordinary" non-extreme beer.
