3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
22oz bottle, on close out at Party Source. Cap lining has weird bubbles on it, probably an old bottle. CLear dark red color, kind of brown. Appears black from a distance. Good thin khaki head, leaves pretty solid lace; good head retention. Medium-plus body. Slightly chewy. Smooth, kind of soft, kinda chewy lighter carbonation. Lightly slick, lightly drying in the finish though. Good dark chocolate, notes of coffee in the aroma. Caramel malt. Pretty noodly, I think, but I don’t know if I’d have called that if I didn’t know it before hand. Moderate sweet taste, light spiciness. Very light bitter. Much better than expected, considering I expected this to be about 2+ years old. Drinking solid right now. Just a mild hint of oxidization in the nose. Kinda watery after a bit.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours dark, close to black. Dark roasted malts are the main elements of the aroma. Slightly nutty with hints of caramel. Flavour is nutty and malty as well, with just enough bitterness to balance. Roasty and toasty with a nicely lingering after taste. Tingly carbonation. I expected more though.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma is a light roastiness paired with some floral hops. Taste is a roasty malt body with some creaminess. Finishes somewhat flat. Appearance is a dark body with a beige cream head that retains well.

2.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
650 ml bottle bought at YATA in Grand Century Place, Mong Kok.
Clear black brown with no yeast sediments; One finger head with light beige foam which last for 1 minute; Moderate sticky lacing and slight bubbly carbonation; Fragrant sweet aroma of roasted dark malt, with dark chocolate, black coffee, cream, sugar, toffee, caramel, floral, and thin grass; Near zero sweet taste of roasted malt, with strong nuts, toast, light butter, light bread, soda water, non-sweet toffee and caramel, thin lemon and faint grass; Light body, watery palate; Mouth feel is non-sweet dark lager, very strong nuttiness and buttery toastiness, but otherwise pretty muted tastes for everything from bread, caramel to toffee. Like drinking a toast soda, quite plain all the way. Hmmm… Hoppiness is decent floral in slight grass in nose, and faint lemon grassy in taste. Faint bitterness in background with no finish; Fairly dry after taste. Very easy and nutty to mouth.
Comments: This is like a non-sweet, toasty Schwarz: watery, ptetty good aroma, roasty and very nutty taste but with very few distinguishable characters. Very easy going, not bad to wash down meals and for hot Summer. Okay.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Rating #952 -February 5, 2014 0- Finally discounted these as they’ve been on the shelf since I got to @coopwinespirits. This was a deep coppery brown coloured pour with a mild tan foam that faded to a ring. Nose was teddy graham cookies, chocolate, toffee, and vegetable oil. Mild alcohol warmth and carbonation (well disguised at 6.6%) Taste is lagery, an earthy funky raspyness from the soba. mild toffee and caramel malt sweetness, but a load of noble hop grassiness. Finishes like an odd, light peppery porter. Not my bag, but certainly intriguing.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bomber bought @ bierkompass.de. Pours reddish brown with a frothy goldenish beige head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is subtle with toasted malts, cola nuts, hay, cereal, lemon zest, moist wood and green grapes. Taste is sweet and tiny sour with wheat flour, crackers, toasted malts, lemon juice, moist soil, cola nuts and hay. Mouthfeel is crisp, astringent, fizzy and light bodied. Finish is tiny bitter and tiny sour with toasted malts, biscuits, raisins, cola nuts and hints of vomit. Weird and not very good.

2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a black appearance with a brown head. Really a nice, quite toasty malty, chocolate, cookie, slightly burnt, light caramel aroma. Flavor has some nuts, toffee, chocolate and bready, toasted malts but unfortunately is completely full of butter. A bit watery as well. Damn, this one seems to have some potential.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber. Deep red brown with a thin tan ring of head. Nutty, soy sauce, earthy hops, graham crackers and rich malts. Flavor is richly sweet with a light bitter finish. Body is medium heavy with a creamy feel. Very tasty, reminiscent of a black IPA, but without the black licorice flavor.
