2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
I couldn’t finish a bottle of this beer. Flat and bitter tasting, this is one of the few beers I would never drink again. I thought I would like the rich malts and roasted soba flavor...I was very wrong.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear brown with ruby edges, has a foamy tan thick head of fine bubbles. Hints of Hazelnut, cocoa, grain with toasted malty sweetness. Rich, sweet, roasty, nutty. Has a nice mouthfeel & good body. I like this, it isn’t a top shelf beer but very solid and well made. I could drink it often!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pour from a 22 oz bomber. Deep clear dark brew that glowers reddish brown in the sunlight. Two fingers of tan head upon pouring that settles down to a steady frothy creamy small head for the duration. Nutty aroma dominated by rich roasted malts. Taste is sweet malts, caramel and nuts up front finishing with a lingering nutty malty rich finish with shades of bitter and sour hops towards the end. Ends clean and dry with a just bit of lingering roasted nutty malt at the tail. A complex malt based brew with a unique and interesting flavor profile. Based on the taste its sort of like a brown ale but much richer and more complex than most., Really enjoyable.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12/4/2009 11:12:56 AM Bottle from Cracked Kettle, slightly past due date. Dark brown, amber body with healthy tan nose. Nice spicy nose of malts and nuts. Taste is quite thin, of rice and hops. Not much there. I am wondering if it’s slightly off. Warms up a bit and gets spicier in the finish.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. It poured a red color with a white head. The aroma was malty, with rice and roast. The taste was similar to the aroma with roasty bitterness and more malts. Not my style, but still decent.
