A darker version of our Soba Ale. Roasted malts provide a rich nut-laced flavor, while the 3 hops blend to provide a refreshing zest. 10 ingredients: Roasted soba, 2 row pale Munich, c-15, c-60, and Weyermann malts: Horizon, Sterling, and Cascade hops, free range coastal water and top fermenting Pacman yeast. 12.05 Plato, 30 IBU, 75.2 AA, 36.0 L

Poured from bomber into tulip glass. Caramel colored, nice one inch head formed and a fair amount of bubbles. Smell: Light caramel, a slightly sour note. Very subtle smell overall. Taste: Burnt malt, but very smooth and no real bitterness. Creamy and soft but still light bodied. Moderate carbonation. Iím actually very impressed/surprised by this. The creaminess and light body do not seem a likely combination, but I really like it. Given the ingredients used this ale turned out well. A nice curiosity but nothing Iíll be drinking again soon.

A nice black ale. Pours a deep black with a thick tan head. Smells of rice pudding and French toast with a bit of hops. Taste is quite crisp, with more rice cakes, chocolate malts and a slightly hoppy finish with a bit of a flour-like fizziness on your tongue.

nice beer, quite malty and heavily roasted (ie-lightly hopped for Rogue) with a dry light spiciness throughout.

5/VII/14 - 1Pt. 6Fl. Oz. bottle @ RBBSG III (Gent) - BB: n/a (2014-745) Thanks to Benzai for sharing the bottle!

Clear dark purple brown beer, creamy beige head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: mocha, some caramel, sweet malts, some dried fruits. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: caramel, some chocolate, sweet bitter hops, little roasted. Aftertaste: bitter, hoppy, bit malty, coffee touch. Not my thing.

Bottle from Beer Moth, Manchester. Dark brown pour with a fading tan head. Aroma had roasted malt, dark fruit choc and a little spice. The flavour was slightly sweet with more roasted malt, and notes of fruits and licorice. Some vague hoppage lurking in the shadows. Seemed a bit thin. Forgettable and sits on the average side of the street.

It pours with a thick, brown head. It is dark brown in color. It has coffee aromas mixed with nuts that has a spicy pop to it. The head is uneven and does provide some lacing as it recedes. It has a coffee and nut taste with other roasted flavors.
