Dedollewaitor (3625), Odense, Denmark Mar 26, 2007 Unclear golden with a good white head. Fine hoppy fruity aroma. Alcohol harsh like...BOOM. Yeasty & a good hoppiness. Interesting experience! Too much of an alcohol feel hough. Thanks to Beermouth! beermouth (434), Langeskov, Denmark Mar 23, 2007 THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN IMPERIAL PILSNER. It is slight hazy golden yellow with good solid white head. Lot’s of hops and hint’s of malt, hay and a touch of yeast. Beautiful beer, but actually it is a 2IPA. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA Mar 18, 2007 750 ml. swingtop ceramic bottle. Slightly hazy yelow/gold color with a frothy white head. Aroma of biscuity malt and citrus--specifically like a buttery scone dough laced with grated orange peel. Flavor of cookie, almost custardy malts with a pronounced lemon and orange hoppiness. Finishes slightly bitter with some more citrus zestiness. Medium bodied, though has an oily, even milky mouthfeel. A bit of a disappointment all things considered. I got way more pleasure from the Sam Adams Imp. Pils. TheEpeeist (1429), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 13, 2007 On tap at the Mad Mex in West Philly. Clear copper with a dense white head. Blankets of lace cover all the way. Very light nose of lemon and grass. Mild lemon pith, apple juice, honey and bread. Moderate carb, medium light, with a dryish finish. Pretty good. Sneaks up on you. SB (317), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 10, 2007 On Tap at Fat Head’s, Pgh. Poured cloudy gold color. Thin bubbly white head that collected around the glass. Aroma malty. Flavor very snappy floral notes, ending with a touch of oranges. I noticed more and more hops the more I drank it. Carbonation was very present as it warmed my mouth and belly. Texture was rough on my tongue. Good beer, but not my thing. apexthebeerguy (2), Georgia, USA does not count Mar 5, 2007 Pours a cloudy gold color with a slight sweet smell. A very easy drinking beer with a good balance of hops. The tall 26 oz bottle withthe swing top is also a nice touch. mtdshn (174), Moline, Illinois, USA Mar 1, 2007 Pilsner? Strong Lager? IPA? I don’t know exactly, but if I had to pick one it would be imperial IPA. When I bought this (this is totally overpriced by the way, $16) I was expecting a really fantastic pilsner, something that would blow the socks off of Miller Lite. However this one packs a serious punch, and after only two swallows I’ve got the neck cramps coming on just like when I drink red wine. I digress. It pours a really awesome honey amber with a good amount of viscosity, and a solid, foamy head. Aromas of nicely roasted malt that gives it a nice floral, sweet aroma. An intense mouthfeel on the first swallow but ones afterwards are very smooth, balanced, with some nice, subtle lingering hoppiness and a great malty aftertaste that reminds you that it really wasn’t a pilsner you were drinking. This is such a great beer in so many ways. BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Feb 24, 2007 Light gold color with foamy white head. Malty aroma with some floral undertones. Grassy palate with some hop to it.
