hezron (600), Viroqua, Wisconsin, USA Jun 13, 2005 Thanks to JPDIPSO for sharing this one. Rich golden color with a white head. Aroma of corn malt, odd hops. Sweet and malty. Creamy with a medium body. OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Jun 12, 2005 750 ml ceramic flip-top bottle. Golden colour with a frothy white head. Citrusy, toasty and herbal aroma. Initial flavour was completely dominated by the alcohol. Grapefruit, tangerine, and a pithy bitterness accompany the alcohol. As it warmed, a nice bready maltiness balanced the alcohol a bit more. Light bodied, with some heat from the alcohol. 1FastSTi (2551), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Jun 11, 2005 Thanks to JPDIPSO. Pours to a hazy copper/gold color with a thin white head and decent lacing. The aroma is very floral. Lots of hops and light maltyness (pale malts). The flavor is malty, grass hops, light floral hops, light orange colored fruits. The palate is smooth and creamy. sandwichpants (117), Royal Oak, Michigan, USA Jun 11, 2005 Wins top appearance points because of the coolest looking beer bottle ever (I could on it’s own right though, beautiful color and head). Smells wonderful, definitely can detect that "dry hop floral aroma". Flavor is wonderful and complex, lager malts, dark fruit esters. Not worth the silly price probably, as far as buying a second time, but gosh was it fun. Also tasted a little better (less alcohol burn) after a couple days open in the fridge. porterdude (170), Bellingham, Washington, USA Jun 8, 2005 Updated: Sep 8, 2005Very beautiful murky straw colored pour, with a thick, lacy white head. Definate hops in this pilsner, but in a very balanced way. Strong, delicious malt backbone with hints of grass (from the hops) and apricots. Overall a rather delicious, albeit, expensive drink. shadey (1496), Rochester, New York, USA Jun 5, 2005 Updated: Jun 8, 2005#600 Hazy golden color. White creamy head with nice lacing. Plenty of hop character in the aroma. Like a good pilsener with more mild hop character. Some alcohol, but very well hidden for 8.8%. Very well balanced. Nice stuff. kwoeltje (1313), Manchester, Missouri, USA Jun 3, 2005 (pretty bottle) Hazy orange-gold with quickly fading white head. Slightly grassy hop aroma. Flavor is predominantly hops, but overall it’s "lighter" than an IPA. Interesting; it is to other pilsners what imperial IPAs are to regular pale ales. Darkover (1308), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jun 3, 2005 Cloudy orange with a big beige head. Aroma of citrus fruit and candy malts. Flavor of fruit, hops and malt. Finish of hops and lemon.
