meathookjones (245), Sterling, Virginia, USA Dec 3, 2004 This one defiantly is some eye candy sitting on the store shelf calling for you to try it. It comes in a very nice 750ml egg white ceramic-capped growler bottle with a swing top that allows for easy resealing. It was a bit expensive at 13 dollars for the bottle but it was worth it. It poured a clear golden orange color with an excellent white head that dropped to a cap of bubbles about half way through. This one left a decent lacing around the glass as it was drank. The aroma consists of mainly citrus hoppiness with a slight biscuity malt attempting to balance it out. The taste starts of with a bitter hop spiciness that it accompanied by earthy notes as well, malt presence is minimal in the taste. Mouthfeel is good with good carbonation. Nowhere was the 8.8% alcohol detected defiantly making this highly drinkable. Good beer at an expensive price due to the container. I would defiantly get more if it cam in a cheaper bottle. Hab40oz (242), Grants Pass, Oregon, USA Nov 25, 2004 I really like this Pilsner. Very hoppy, even fruity aroma, pours a darker golden color, almost a light amber. Starts off sweet with a zesty citrusness, then moves to a stronger alcohol and bitter hop finish. drkilmer (35), Myersville, Maryland, USA Nov 8, 2004 Was I ever pleasantly surprised by this beer! One of the best I think I’ve ever tasted. Hoppy and spicy. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA Nov 7, 2004 Man, I LOVE the container! Poured a murky amber with a large white head that left a lacing on the glass. Aroma is rich and hoppy. Taste has a huge hop kick, reminiscent of a good IPA, but combined with a strong sweetness. The flavor is very, very prominent--the strongest I’ve tasted in this type of beer. The 8.8% is not detectable at all... except when it hits you. Delicious with spicy food. Overall very pleasing. dhlesq (233), Thousand Oaks, California, USA Oct 29, 2004 Aroma of floral hops, hint of orange, some bubblegum, bread. Appears a light amber color with some noticeable effervescence, and a thin head that disappears almost immediately. Sweet malt flavor at the start, that turns into a hoppy whallop at the finish that is almost overpowering with grapefruit and alcoholic heat. Palate is a bit thin, and does not adequately cover the alcoholic flavor. Overall, this beer is ever so slightly more than the sum of its parts. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA Oct 28, 2004 Smells like a sweet German Pilsner. Chunky, murky, hazy look of a bottle conditioned Tripel. Nice firm white head. The first and last thing that you taste is the bitterness. In the middle is sweet malt. Around the edges are citrus and some stone fruit flavors. Kind of like a bitter Mai Bock. The bitterness is too rough for the other flavors in my opinion. That criticism aside, it is an interesting brew. SDalkoholic (1186), Chula Vista, California, USA Oct 27, 2004 #100: I learned from this bottle you have to be patient and pour very gently or a else a huge monster foam will build up, and wont break down. White and thick head at first but the head will shrink to a thin foam and cover the beer through out the drink. Has a murky orangish yellow hue with little amount of bubbles and i did spot some sediment floating. Nose is of hops and a mild floral aroma. A minimum of lacing does occur. Flavor has some nectar, orange citrus, honey and a raw dough taste. Malt and hops are perfectly reflected while drinking and are balanced respectively. Dorwart (1807), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA Oct 22, 2004 Medium sized soapy looking head of large bubbles. Head diminishes slowly. Strange aroma. A little floral with corn flakes, bread and some strange vegetable. Color is a medium golden orange. BIG malt backbone which works great with this brew. Offsets the big floral hops presence nicely. Thick and creamy in the mouth with a bit of bread. Good bitterness also. Alcohol is hidden very well in this brew witha nice bitter finish. Going to have a great time finishing off this one. Really cool ceramic bottle.
