IndianaRed (1553), Boise, Idaho, USA Oct 15, 2004 750ml Bottle Pours a hazy medium light amber. Very nice thick creamy head that is very persistent. Extremely thick chunky lacing. Aroma is quite nice, lightly fruity, hopy and of sweet bread. Flavor is a much stronger hops that the smell huinted at. But also quite sweet. Honey and light malts. The comercial desctription nails it when it says hedonistic mouth feel. Rico....Suave’...
Finish is a fairly sharp hop bitter taste. A bit much for me but I supose good for the style. Yummy. Kasteelfreak (341), Fallbrook, California, USA Oct 2, 2004 Tastes like a cross between Fred, malt liquor, and a pale ale. Nose is really fruity with raisons and plum. Head is frothy, retains for a while and leaves very nicelace. Color is hazy medium yellow-orange. Taste is sweet raison and some bread at first and fades to herbal dryness. Palte is medium to full wuth some syrupy viscosity. Very interesting and worth a try. joeycapps (1466), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada Sep 29, 2004 Cloudy gold w/ fluffy slightly off-white head. Relatively big aroma of Saaz hops & sweet, bready malt. Medium, soft feel. Fresh, clean malt flavour w/ a extremely long & bitter finish. Not overly complex. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Sep 27, 2004 Clody yellow/gold body, nice creamy off-white head (and good lasting). Saazy citrus aroma with some bite. Bitter soapy taste with some strong and sweet but astringent citrus hops. Full bodied. Nice and powerful... kind of a mix between an imperial IPA and a pilsner. Very good! DougShoemaker (2855), Toronto, Canada Sep 26, 2004 A sour, yeasty aroma, like a Gueuze and Belgian Strong together. Hazy apricot, slim white head. Flavours of grapefruit, malt, and yeast like a Saison. Very dry, yet refreshing. Most Unique! Many Thanks rudolf. jmuhops (663), Winchester, Virginia, USA Sep 26, 2004 Awesome bottle, too bad what comes out of it smells of urine and has a very bland flavor. I didn’t experience the blast of hops that other reviewers did. I hope I had a bad bottle, because I was expecting a lot more. Will try again to be sure. jcc83 (137), Athens, Georgia, USA Sep 23, 2004 The incredible bottle wins appearance points on its own, and the beautiful golden, bubbly liquid that pours forth seals the deal. This is certainly an aromatic lager, with a strong, bitter hop nose, covering all but a hint of malt. Flavor is a massive hop hit, bitter but with plenty of citrusy/piney flavors. Well-carbonated, and thick in the mouth for a pilsner. Not what I expected at all from the word pilsner, this beer felt almost like a light-bodied IPA, with its bitter, hop-dominated flavor and aroma. Nevertheless, an excellent brew. tupalev (2605), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 23, 2004 I really enjoyed this (thanks for sharing rudolf). Odd citrusy aroma. Light orange pour. Very active mouthfeel. A good dose of hops in the taste, this tasted exactly as described - a pilsner kicked up a few notches. I found it very drinkable and enjoyable. A unique style to be sure.
