Had this guy in a nice little visit to the brewery in Newport. If you ask me, this is what I'll look for in the future out of a pilsner. It has the basic pilsner flavor, yet this one actually has a back bone. Very smooth, hides the alcohol. Probably good it\'s one of those pub only brews (except for the cool limited edition bottles, but i'm not sure how far out those get), because this is the kind of beer that could sneak up on someone.

Ceramic swingtop 750 ml bottle poured into a footed pilsener glass. Pours a bright, hazy copper with a big, fluffy white head of foam. Pretty good retention. The aroma has notes of candied grapefruit peel and pine. Taste has a thicker pine bitterness that moves to a juicy, lemon citrus sweetness. The alcohol is a touch noticeable toward the finish. Light to medium body. Low to medium carbonation.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Citrus fruits on the nose. Malty sweetness the second it gets in your mouth with a lowish carbonation. Hoppy bitterness at the back end with a slight hint of a floral essence. Would not have said that it 8.8%

Dank hefty yellow, little lacey or something else with a white head that flattened quickly. Peppery/spicy lemon peel and straw hop nose - bouquet. Nice, terse maltyness and sweet bitterness throughout. Decent metallic tang, moreish carbonation mouthfeel. Fairly bloody tidy and passable for 8.8%. p>Bottle, Black Friday Tasting, Beer Of Europe
