Bright white meringue head recedes leaving spider lacing to coat surface. Deep caramel and malt aromas. Creamy and full with upfront caramel and a lasting, dry resin and grapefruit finish. topherh (943), Kearney, Missouri, USA

Aroma of hops lots of hops and some malt. Flavor is of hops and yet nicely malty. A well balanced beer that I really enjoy. It doesn’t really seem like a pilsener to me. Starts off hoppy finishing with a fruity yeast taste. Nice nose. For a high alcohol beer, you really don’t get much of that taste. It’s masked well. I’ve got to mention the bottle while I’m at it. They are ceramic with the labeling printed on the bottle. No stickers. Very cool.

Pour is hued and almost hazy yellow gold. Taste is wonderfully strong.. generous amounts of hops, florals, dry malt, and delicious alcohol. Amazing how bold and rich it is for only 4 ingredients. Reminds me of Pilsner Urquell on steroids. Worth buying again, but I wish it wasn’t so pricey. biermonk (259), San Francisco, California, USA

Poured up a hazy yellow color with a nice white head. Flavor had a good malty presence but the hopos put me in mind of IPA. Very tingly mouthfeel. Excellent rogue fuyajo (225), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 3, 2008 Pours to a hazy dark-yellow color. Wonderful aroma of yeast and hops. Lots of flavor here -- lots of hops, some citrus perhaps, and a lasting bitter finish. Great pallet -- creamy, but not too much so. And that finish -- easily one of my new favorites. It has all the characteristics of a pils, yet departs from the style early on to become something unique. bitter, malty, hoppy, yet balanced and delicious. A gem of a beer, and an outstanding re-definition of the pils style. Reminds me of a rich, sweet Prima Pils. Recommended.
