bw1982 (69), , Arizona, USA Jan 15, 2009 Light golden to straw color. Not too much aroma here, there is some pretty soft consistent white lacing. This is an exceptionally smooth beer, it is very clean. It is also very light, a very easy drinking beer. There are some sweet notes backed by a very nice balance of hops. scrizzz (1247), kirkland, Washington, USA Jan 11, 2009 Clear pale gold, soft consistent lacing. Soft aroma of dusty hay and I suppose buckwheat but I haven’t really smelled much buckwheat lately. Smooth, clean, no flaws. Very light bodied, extremely enjoyable for a delicate beer. Plenty of hops for a balance, this beer never lets me down. ruggedman (613), Portland, Maine, USA Jan 10, 2009 This is a light, soba beer. Great to go with Japanese cuisine I’d wager. It’s almost sake like in flavor and aroma. Travlr (698), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jan 7, 2009 Almost no hops. Very thin, like a watered down Bud Light. Not much finish. To be avoided at all costs. WeeHeavySD (2940), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Jan 7, 2009 Tap @ Live wire, my GF got this and I thought it was the porter but it sure as hell wasn’t. Pours gold with a bright white ring. Nose is not to great. Taste is light with a touch something wheaty perhaps buckwheaty. xibalba89 (147), New York, New York, USA Jan 7, 2009 Pours a cloudy yellow with a fizzy head and lots of carbonation. The aroma reminds me of some of the Hitachino Nestbeers, wish I knew the thing that makes them similar. There’s some light malt and salt in there too. The flavor is plain, mainly malt and some citrus on the edges... the finish has good feel, but is a little too ’beery’ for my taste. Very drinkable, but unremarkable. bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA Dec 31, 2008 Bottle. Golden beer with an off-white head. Light toasty, light citrus aroma. Wheaty, toasty, biscuity flavor with lemon and spice. Medium bodied. Biscuit flavor lingers with spice and possibly some vanilla. Different. AmazonMatt (284), Panama Dec 28, 2008 Hmmm....Not too many flaws, but pretty similar in profile to a pale lager. Big head, dry finish, and no flaws at the end, but I am not getting the nuts that everyone gets. Quite light...I keep wanting to say that it is not any different from a Heineken, but actually it is...more sophisticated, more refined. Rouge does have better beer, but on a hot summer day doing yard work, this would be good. Thanks to Michael Lelevier for bringing this from NM to Panama.
