mabel (2530), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 6, 2008 [1372-20080518] 12floz bottle. Very mild citrus aroma, mostly generic toasted grains and some yeast. Hazy, bright orange brown body with a quick creamy white head. Bitter plasticy peat moss flavour has strong burnt earthy undertones and wheat grains and light corn notes. Medium body is bitter. Weird but interesting to try with its super burnt earthiness.
($0.99 from Premier Gourmet) Beerman6686 (1266), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 6, 2008 Poured a light yellow color with a big white head. Aroma was strange, i guess buckwheat?. Flavor was much like the aroma with a little added sourness to it also. Bragesnak (2223), Aarhus, Denmark Aug 3, 2008 From LIC, Aarhus, DK.

Morimoto Soba. Yellow with white head. Aroma of malt. Flavor is bready but light. Bitterness is low. daknole (2805), Plantation, Florida, USA Jul 27, 2008 Had as Morimoto Saba. Nasty. Yellowish golden pour with a whitish head. Aroma is malty, grainy, bready. Nothing special. Flavor is well, ummm, yeah reminds me of a Miller or Bud or something. Stank grains and malt. Not good Rogue. Not good. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Jul 26, 2008 Pale golden in color with a large head. Light in smell and taste as well. Light hops aroma with some hops in the taste. A very light pale ale more like a lager. Soba is interesting I am not sure exactly what it adds. BrewDad (2363), Olympia, Washington, USA Jul 23, 2008 Pint - Rogue by the Bay - Newport, OR
Aroma – Nice malt and hops aroma.
Appearance – Amber in color, Thin light head and clear.
Flavor – The beer did not give anything where you get the taste of buckwheat.
Palate – Decent Mouthfeel, Nice texture with a dry finish.
Overall – A very nice beer it just did not live up to the billing as a buckwheat ale. Needed more of the flavor you advertise.
grandridge (222), Port Clinton, Ohio, USA Jul 18, 2008 So dissapointing dor a Rogue. Taste is almost macro I was expecting a lot more when I paid almost 3 bucks for a 12 oz. I was hoping for a quality Rogue brew and what I got was this. Live and learn. There might be some grain in there but it doesn’t taste nice. I’m not wasting any more time rating this. timsilvia32 (445), from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Jul 16, 2008 Had as the Morimoto Soba. This is a Rogue ale??? Golden pour, light head in color and thickness. A very little hint of roasted grain of some sort along with light citrus. Finishes clean enough, but very non-descript. Tastes pretty much like any you name it macrobrewed attempt at some sort of summer ale.
