RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA May 29, 2008 Bottled as Morimoto Soba Ale. Hmmm. This was interesting. Very light in body and flavor. Malty, woodsy ... maybe it was the buckwheat. Kind of thin in every sense. Not really my thing. scoobyluv (486), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA May 29, 2008 now this is known as morimoto soba ale. amber in color. kinda malty but no other discernable flavor. it’s weird but i kinda like it even though it didn’t really taste like anything. hard to explain lampeno420 (321), Zeeland, Michigan, USA May 28, 2008 (Morimota Soba Ale) Kind of hit me as a lawnmower beer, i dont know if they changed it at all between the two names or not. A light golden pour and mostly grassy flavor. Decent, but nothing to special here really. davidCC (130), New York, USA May 25, 2008 Pours cloudy golden, almost reminiscent of a hefeweizen, good amount of light tan head that dissipates quickly. The use of buckwheat is quite original and I enjoyed it a lot. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA May 24, 2008 Pours a hazy golden amber with a medium size foamy white head. Roasted grain and malt dominates the aroma, along with some citrus and nuttiness. Really quite refreshing flavor. Just a bit of grain and malt, some hops, fruit and caramel. I was really pleasantly surprised by this one. jjuf1853 (467), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA May 20, 2008 Bottle (Morimoto Soba Ale) pours a slightly hazy golden orange color with a foamy white head. Aromas of grass, honey, citrus, hops, and butterscotch. Flavor is interesting and definitely unique, it includes grass, lemon, and some bitterness from the hops. Aftertaste lingers for a while and some of the roasted characteristics begin to appear. Overall it was pretty good, but I started to lose interest towards the end. phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA May 19, 2008 Pours a clear copper colour with a fluffy white head. Sort of dissapointing in flavor- it had a mildly watered down grainy taste and characteristics that tasted like pale lager. Aroma is a little grassy with hint of spice. saxo (3511), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark May 11, 2008 Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are rich hops, malt and notes of citrus and fruits. Very nice balance.
