fro2218 (466), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Sep 27, 2007 This one is unique and qite good. The buckwheat lends a wonderfull nutty flavor. stefanje (937), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Sep 24, 2007 650ml bottle or Morimoto Soba ale from Bevmo. Pours a copper-gold color with a meager off-white head that fades to 1/8 inch and holds. Aroma is very light and hints of sweet malts, wheat and some citrus. Flavor is a bit unique and unusual, I presume that a lot of what I’m tasting is the roasted buckwheat, it reminds me of straw, hazelnuts and persimmons. hops are well integrated and barely noticeable. Mouthfeel is full and satisfying. Finish is long, clean and smooth. Overall this is a mention-worthy concoction that deserves a try. DuffMan (2721), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Sep 23, 2007 My bottle is Morimoto Soba Ale, shared with Parksy. Hazy orange gold, thin almond coloured head. Sweet aroma, candy-corn and ginger, caramel. Medium carbonation and the buckwheat malts lend a creamy mouthfeel. Different, nice! douglas88 (1557), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Sep 19, 2007 Bottle of Morimoto soba. Pours a light gold, with a decent head. The taste is smooth and a little watery, with a nice addition of burnt soba. Overall, it’s nice and well balanced. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA Sep 8, 2007 Pours a clear gold with little head and some lacing. Nose is...well...odd I think. I am not sure what it is, but there is something unique about it. I am not sure if it is the soba or not. I know deep down it is something plant like, but the only thing I can think to say is that it smells like a dirty sock...but in an organic way. There seems to be a slight touch of citrus on the nose too. Taste is smooth with a silent start that turns to the soba and grain body. Mouthfeel is good. Highly drinkable if you are agreeable to the taste. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Updated: Sep 1, 2007Date: 09/02/1997

Trev (850), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA Aug 31, 2007 Morimoto Soba Ale:
Pours an orange-gold with a medium creamy head.
Grainy and Grassy is the first impression.
Flavour was a bit thin for me with a flat bitterness and a rice-like quality.
mikey (336), farmington, Utah, USA Aug 30, 2007 Poured a hazy, apricot body with a small off-white head that quickly fades to a thin cap. The nose was toasty and bready with subtle citrus hops. There was also a note of spicy grains that made me think rye. The taste had a nice balance of bready, grainy, malt and a muted citrus hoppiness. The buckwheat adds a different dimension, similar to rye. Hops have adequate bitterness, but seem somewhat lacking. The feel was medium/light with average cabonation. A tasty brew, that’s very drinkable and certainly worth your time.
