Morimoto Soba Ale: Pours an orange-gold with a medium creamy head. Grainy and Grassy is the first impression. Flavour was a bit thin for me with a flat bitterness and a rice-like quality.

Poured a hazy, apricot body with a small off-white head that quickly fades to a thin cap. The nose was toasty and bready with subtle citrus hops. There was also a note of spicy grains that made me think rye. The taste had a nice balance of bready, grainy, malt and a muted citrus hoppiness. The buckwheat adds a different dimension, similar to rye. Hops have adequate bitterness, but seem somewhat lacking. The feel was medium/light with average cabonation. A tasty brew, that’s very drinkable and certainly worth your time.

Pours golden with a white, fluffy head. Aroma is somewhat toasty. Mouthfeel is light with a lightly toasted, sweet flavor. Some nutty quality is found. A mild hop bitterness accents it well.

Morimoto Soba. A hazy amber coloring. The flavor is a nice blend of hops and malts - not a lot of either.

Really a very nice and unique brew. Enjoyed this one from start to finish, although it took me a while to figure out what the heck I was tasting. I have no idea what Soba is.

Had the Japanese bottled version. Pours to a glowing straw caramel colored body with an insane amount of visible carbonation. A tall frothy white head and nice lacing. The aroma is lightly fruity. Dried pineapple and mango. Lots of buckwheat. Buckwheat pancakes. Grain dust is strong. The flavor is extremely grainy. Buckwheat pancakes, grain dust, light pineapple. The palate is slick and dry. Peanutty. Finishes clean and quite nice.

Golden colour, white foamy head. Dusty, hoppy aroma. Taste is hoppy and grainy, slighty bitter, some tea flavours.

(Bottle Morimoto Soba Ale) Aroma is quite weird; bit dusty some yeast, tea. Hazy, orange coloured with a lasting off-white head. Taste is sweetish with tea and some orange. Smooth sweetness in it. Nice.
