probstk (1005), Nepean, Ontario, Canada May 27, 2007 Bomber in Florida, served cold in a wine glass. Called Morimoto Soba Ale. MA03/07.
App.: Hazy, deep golden, fair white head.
Aroma: Grassy, lemony, a strange blend of malt and hops; smells refreshing.
Palate: Full, thick, syrupy body, soft yet effervescent carbonation.
Flav.: Mostly burnt sugar, roasted malts; a strangely empty finish, definitely nutty.
I’m not sure what to think of this... hayduke (1619), Eureka, California, USA May 23, 2007 In a 22 oz bottle labeled Marimoto and called Marimoto Soba Ale. It poured amber and cloudy, with a fairly large off white head that did not leave much lacing. Nose of wheat and light malts. Mouthfeel medium, and favor has some nuts, caramel, and fruit. Drinkability good. mlist55 (210), media, Pennsylvania, USA May 23, 2007 Cloudy amber. Buckwheaty aroma with cherry and light caramel. Kind of flat body, with hints of buckwheat and diacetyl. Vague malts. BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA May 21, 2007 Wheat nose with dry grains. Cloudy yellow body. Grainy taste but nothing special. Very expensive for what it is. markas101 (541), Fargo, North Dakota, USA May 20, 2007 65 cl bottle, Fargo. Morimoto soba label. Cloudy golden colour, Sweet citrus aroma. Very dry, citrus taste, quite carbonated. Interesting to try although not my taste. ghawener (952), San Salvador, El Salvador May 15, 2007 Drank with Ramenen. Bottle: Very disappointed, I got the Morimoto label and expected a lot more. Flat, weird, rice flavour. Light and watery, aftertaste is flat. Not the best Rogue. ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark May 9, 2007 Unclear orange with a small and disappearing white head. Aroma of nuts, caramel and toffee. Quite dry flavour keith0718 (157), Olathe, Kansas, USA May 8, 2007 Morimoto Soba Ale: A tad watery, but I find this beer to be quite unique and tasty. There’s a mellow nutty maltiness in there that’s pretty cool.
