Hazy gold color with a thick head. Aroma is a wheat and rye blend. A little soapy. A lot of dark roasted wheat for the flavor. I can only assume this is the buckwheat as I’ve never actually had buckwheat. Dry caramel and sugar. Dry hop finish. Much nicer than I was expecting.

Moriomoto Soba bomber. Somewhat dusty wheat aroma, not standard malt. Lightly hazy gold color with a white head that does some lacing. Thin body. A bit creamy. Carbonation fizz bucks it up a bit. Sort of a nutty flavor, accompanied by citrus, but very little bitter. Decent. A unique citrus aspect to the finish. Difficult to describe, but it is a pleasant finish. Has something of a citrus sour there.

Bomber in Florida, served cold in a wine glass. Called Morimoto Soba Ale. MA03/07.

App.: Hazy, deep golden, fair white head. Aroma: Grassy, lemony, a strange blend of malt and hops; smells refreshing. Palate: Full, thick, syrupy body, soft yet effervescent carbonation. Flav.: Mostly burnt sugar, roasted malts; a strangely empty finish, definitely nutty.

I’m not sure what to think of this...

In a 22 oz bottle labeled Marimoto and called Marimoto Soba Ale. It poured amber and cloudy, with a fairly large off white head that did not leave much lacing. Nose of wheat and light malts. Mouthfeel medium, and favor has some nuts, caramel, and fruit. Drinkability good.

Cloudy amber. Buckwheaty aroma with cherry and light caramel. Kind of flat body, with hints of buckwheat and diacetyl. Vague malts.

Wheat nose with dry grains. Cloudy yellow body. Grainy taste but nothing special. Very expensive for what it is.

Drank with Ramenen. Bottle: Very disappointed, I got the Morimoto label and expected a lot more. Flat, weird, rice flavour. Light and watery, aftertaste is flat. Not the best Rogue.
