22oz bottle suckeled in Pasadena CA. Labeled Morimoto Soba Ale - this name stuff is pretty confusing. Why don’t they come out with new names when they make...well, new brews! I guess someone at Rogue is quiker at producing new catchy label designs and brew names than they are at making new beer recipes. Now, to the beer. Pours a cloudy deep orange, like a perfect ipa. The aroma is yeasty and very enjoyable. flavor is super light, not much umph but a great session beer - its refreshing and given the low alcohol content something you can gulp if your day warrants such behavior. Very yummy, worth trying. Needs a higher abv, would add to the nose and throat appeal.

22oz bomber labeled Morimoto Soba Ale--now I understand everyone’s bitch about Rogue relabeling all their brews. Pours a hazy orange golden with a 1/2 finger fading eggshell head. Aroma has some honey, bready malts, toffee, some floral and grassy hops. Flavor is more of the same, very little bitterness noted, mostly sweet malts. Light-medium body with moderate carbonation. Nothing bad, but not really anything interesting.

Bottle. Tasting 12-01-2007 (Søren, Peter, Carsten). Head was small frothy white which was mostly diminishing. Good lacing. Body was clear with a light golden color. Aroma was hay, straw, spice, coriander, ginger and vegetable. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Light sweet with some acidic flavor I thought. Short sweet finish. Interesting beer with a very vegetables aroma. Think the ginger comes a bit too much thought the taste.

Pale amber color. Medium body. Nutty, doughy (Pancakes?). Citrus finish. Good balance but not crazy about it

Pours organish golden with a thin, mostly receding light tan head. Aroma of cantaloupe, rye, and almonds. Taste is sweet and yeasty with notes of honey and very lightly roasted coffee beans. Finishes thin and watery. Mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with spritzy carbonation. Not a big fan. Thin and weird.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy golden color, with a medium sized rocky white head. Aroma is dough, some floral, yeast. Favor is dough, nuts, a little malt, something seet I can’t put my finger on. Palate is light to medium with a decent amount of carbonation. Different, but good.
