zach8270 (2053), Henrietta, New York, USA Aug 9, 2006 (bottle - 22 oz) Light amber in color with not much carbonation or a head. Aroma is slightly dry and stale with hints of sweet malts, hops, and some grass. Flavor begins with a nice and semi-sweet malt and hop taste (very well balanced), then went quickly to a bitter and grainy middle with a very nice and bitter hop finish. Bitterness lingers on the palate for quite a while and has a little bit of citrus in there too. IrishBoy (2686), Bakersfield, California, USA Aug 6, 2006 Nose of malts, citrus, and hops; amber color with a small off-white head; flavor of toasty, spicy--caramel malts, with a definate citrus overtone, lasting into a small hop bitterness for a finish. Polished off the rest of the bomber with a couples of Hot dogs spiced up with Sierre Nevada’s Stoneground Stout Mustard. SudsMcDuff (1691), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA Jul 13, 2006 very tasty brew jap man...great lacing....sweet....good honey and nutty flavours...refreshing and fufulling...nice beer all around..recomennded for a change of pace. mnurda (434), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Jul 7, 2006 Spice/Herb/Vegetable. Who would have thought that this was a type of beer? Probably wouldn’t try this one again. zebracakes (1214), Washington DC, USA Jul 4, 2006 Bottle. Pours golden yellow with a white head. Flavor is malt and herbs---quite an unique flavor. unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Jun 29, 2006 22oz. bottle. The one I’m having is a Chef Morimoto’s Soba Ale. This beer is the first Rogue I’ve ever had. Anyone who knows unclemattie, knows I love a good Rogue! Orange in color, off-white head. Crisp and hoppy all the way through. This beer kills any Pale ale. henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA Jun 27, 2006 The 22 ounce bottle poured a hazy, ripe apricot colored beverage with a small creamy white head that lasted for ever and left excellent lacing on the glass. The aroma presented itself as primarily malty with emphasis on roasted malt but there were also decidedly strong notes of spicy hops as well. The body was medium to light with soft carbonation and a soft, smooth, watery texture. The flavor started off neutral - neither sweet nor bitter. I definitely recognized the flavor imparted to the beer from the use of buckwheat. A slight bitterness developed throughout the medium-long finish. rudolf (1734), Buffalo, New York, USA Jun 25, 2006 Tap @ Cole’s. Nose is lightly bready, buttery, slightly spicy. Flavor is grassy, light caramel, slight tartness. Almost like an English IPA with a twist.
