Poured and amber color with some head no lacing. Taste watered down what a bad beer. Wont do this one ever again." omhper (12171), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 17, 2006 Draught at Rogue, Newport (as Rogue Morimoto Soba Ale). Hazy pale amber, small head. The nose is fruty and flowery. Medium dry with fairly light body and clean mouthfeel. There’s some estery bubblegum flavour, low bitterness. An aromatic and very drinkable ale. peter (385), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Feb 10, 2006 Honey gold appearance with a wheaty clover nose. VERY intresting brew. Stong flavours of soba noodles, big supprise there. The soba flavour was actually so strong that I made a salad with an asian vinagerette to finish the bottle, and they pair exectently together. Not something that stands alone well. tennisjoel (937), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 9, 2006 22 ounce bottle. This one also goes under the name Morimoto Soba ale. Why does Rogue have multiple names for a fair number of their beers. Puzzling. Must be a marketing ploy. The first ingredient reads Roasted Soba. What exactly is Soba? Is it the same as Buckwheat? Maybe it’s buckwheat in Japanese. Uh huh! Pours a cloudy golden orange. Fruity aroma. In flavor, I think this is somewhat similar to the Oregon Golden Ale. Definitely an interesting flavor. Some ingredients I like (hops), others are so so. Overall this is less than average for Rogue. I still enjoy it somewhat, but won’t be buying it again in the near future. There are better Rogues out there. mjg74 (1995), La Mesa, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 9, 2006 Bottled. Pours golden in color with a hint of red. Aroma is slightly sweet and grainy. Maybe a little yeast. Bitter grainy flavors. Some sweetness and yeast. Reminds me of a pilsener. Fairlt thick mouthfeel. mkgrenwel (420), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 1, 2006 Very light. Nice floral hops with some citrus. Crisp. Some very light bitterness on the roof of the mouth, but not in the finish. A bit of a light wheat flavor. No malt sweetness. Peachy. Medium bodied with just the right amount of carbonation. Smell is much stronger hops than taste.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 30, 2006 Are we absolutely sure that this one is the same as Morimoto Soba? At any rate, my bottle said Morimoto Soba, and was dark straw with some malt and hopcit aromas, coupled with some ginger, duck sauce, and sesame. The flavor was unique, and would have gone great with Thai or Chinese or Japanese foods. I got hints of sesame, ginger, orange rind, with a medium palate, and even some tropical fruit and citrus at the finish, with back up hops. Hawksfan17 (717), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 28, 2006 I got this as Morimoto Soba Ale - Pours golden with orange hue. Smells sweet and fruity. The taste is fruity, but also malty/nutty. It is a pretty nice beer, goes down smooth and clean.
