ervan (37), Redwood City, California, USA Sep 20, 2005 this was a nice, light, subtle beer with a unique flavor of the soba/buckwheat. I would recommend this for a night of japanese food eating. pinkzambia (986), Boise, Idaho, USA Sep 14, 2005 Bottle: Cloudy gold color with a small white head. Aromas of wet wheat and tastes not too bad. A nice balance. I didn’t notice any hop bitterness. Nothing too blow you away though. The feel is kind of thin with an average amount of carbonation. I would drink it again if someone like Indiana Red handed one to me. Thanks I R! SSSteve (2047), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Sep 3, 2005 hops and light malt aroma. amber color. big rogue hops as usual. i dont notice any roasted ingredients or spices. light and dry. mephisto (1144), Taiwan Sep 1, 2005 morimoto soba ale. cloudy orange, interesting sweet aroma of unknown source. yeasty wheat flavor, slightly fruity and bitter. at first repulsive mouthfeel, but becomes much better after a couple sips. Tmoney99 (4656), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Sep 1, 2005 Bomber bottle. Morimoto Soba Signature Ale. Hazy amber color with moderate head that diminished quickly. Moderate aroma of malt and fruit. Medium body. Moderate flavor of malt and hops with a citrus finish. Average brew for Rogue. ChazyRPh (571), Chazy, New York, USA Aug 29, 2005 Morimoto Soba Ale - clear yellowish pour with a medium white head that dissipated fast, leaving a white film. Fruity, hoppy aroma. Smells pretty damn good. Nice balance between the malt and hops. Crisp, clean, roasty and hoppy at the same time. The finish is a little thin, and has a tangy bitterness to it. Refreshing, although the tanginess to finish is a little too much. Interesting and well done just the same. hurleymanvw (101), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Aug 17, 2005 Good fruity aroma lightly colored. Good malt flavor. Didn’t pick much out of the beer but i very much enjoyed it. hopnpop (68), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 12, 2005 Tried this out of a bottle labeled "Morimoto Soba Ale." Color is fairly light. Aroma is floral-like. Initial taste of roasted nuts. Clean, dry, hoppy finish. Overall, a decent "ale light," certainly non-offensive and easy to drink.
