Nice aroma of fruit and pine. Light body, with a strange grainy flavor. Must the Morimoto-er-buckwheat. I had hopes for this beer, as Rogue is a "name" brand. Trev (896), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA

Pours an orange-gold with a medium creamy head.
Grainy and Grassy is the first impression.
Flavour was a bit thin for me with a flat bitterness and a rice-like quality.

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 18, 2007 Very light - and not in a good way. There isn’t much buckwheat flavor, nor is there any other flavor present. Basically a bland blonde ale. ogglethorp (890), Ohio, USA

Aroma is dough, some floral, yeast. Favor is dough, nuts, a little malt, something seet I can’t put my finger on. Palate is light to medium with a decent amount of carbonation. Different, but good. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jun 11, 2007 Bottle says "Soba". Pours a pale toffee-gold with a gorgeous uneven cloudy head with stiff peaks. Very very faint, light, syrupy aroma. Very... interesting taste. Very corn-like, doughy and soft, with vodka-like alcohol notes, especially near the end. Some hops at the start, but they peter out into faint sweet malting which is so soft and light that it can be forgiven. Body is slightly thin, but carb is decent. A most unusually palatable beverage, I can’t really think why this beer doesn’t offend me, because really, it should, but I think I’ll just keep sipping for a while, if that’s ok... ultraspank (866), Dublin, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jan 21, 2004 Labelled as "Morimoto Soba". Toasty nose of buckwheat, cereal, and a hint of rye. Pours a clear flat amber with a large white creamy head. Good lacing is apparent as the head lasts fully. The excellent flavor reminiscent of a good pilsener with a little extra bang for the brew. The long finish has a nice rye tone. The medium body is soft and very creamy. The finish feels clean. Not something I could drink alot of, but a treat to be sure - in that I've yet to taste anything quite like it. Gravity seems high. cab (863), Denmark
