Subtle wine-like smell. Average oam. Clear-ly filtered. Refreshing as opposed to heavy in taste.

Mild floral hops nose with touches of malt. Cloudy, reddish pour with quick white foam. Much like an amber ale, malty sweetness up front with some hops toward the end. Light carbonation and light body. Would pair well with a range of food.

Tap@Taphouse, Copenhagen - orange amber pour with white head. Aroma and taste is grainy and malty with notes of stewed fruit, some spices, wheaty, malty, bit strange, not sure on this one.

12 ounce bottle from the brewery in Issaquah A: light brown amber, hazy, small tan head that disappears quickly Smell: not a lot of arroma, some grains Taste: not a lot of taste, low bitterness Palate: lively carbonation, finish is not abrupt but not long Overall: good beer not ok to repeat, not to look for Drank: May 31, 2016

A: Sweet. Burned plastic.... Some alcohol. A: Golden, opaque. White and sparse head. T: Same plastic taste. Very bitter. Some sourness. It’s possible to find some pleasant spiciness. Like a softened wasabi. P: I find it more dense than I expected. It was a good surprise. Flows softly. Balanced carbonation. With a astringent finish. O: Nice experience. But too expensive!

330ml bottle from Hop Hideout as Ezo Soba Beer - Hazy yellow body, foamy white top. Nice fruity aroma, seems a bit sugarcane-like in the nose. Taste is pleasant enough, quite refreshing, but nothing worth shouting about. Short finish.

22oz bottle in fl. Pleasant fruity aroma. Hazy yellow pour. Liked first few sips but got old quick. Bitter. Sticky mouthfeel. Costs way too much

355 ml bottle as “Ezo Zaru Shirushi Soba Beer” at abv 3.0% bought at YATA in MOKO, Mong Kok.

Translucent amber golden colour; Near zero finger head and residual soapy white foam which fades in 5 seconds; Poor sticky lacing and near zero carbonation; Fragrant and sweet aroma of Amber malt, with caramel, canned peach, apricots, light floral, sugar and light yeast; Light sweet taste of light Ale malt, with moderate roastyness, buckwheat, light caramel, molasses, yeast, bitter lime, very strong bitter hops and grass;Light body, watery palate; Mouth feel is light Amber malt in runny background, which gives way to roasty buckwheat, which is very coarse and bitter to the tongue but not as bad as most Gluten-free beers. Not much fruity taste, just molasses and sharp lime to round. Kinda okay… Hoppiness is canned peach, apricots and light floral in nose. Bitter lime and grass in taste; Bitterness is very strong for a lasting, highly astringent roast grain finish; Quite dry after taste; Very bitter and coarse to mouth.

Comments: This one would have been a light and refreshing Ale if only the coarseness of buckwheat can be agjusted and lesser bitterness which doesn’t really fit the style. Otherwise I like the good fruity hoppy aroma and its dryness. Once is enough.
