| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 17, 2008 On tap. Pours a ruby brown with small head, vibrant for a barley wine. Nose is of wood, malt, nuts, and some alcohol. Flavor was a bold and boozy mixture of nuts, dark fruits, alcohol, heavy malt, and sugar. Palate was medium thick. This beer could use some aging, but overall the flavor presented were quite pleasant. Lastly, this beers complexity was evidenced by its changing flavors as the beer warmed in the glass. Last few sips bordered on a syrupy cherry-booze that was not entirely pleasant, however. Solid.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 12, 2008 drank from the ceramic bastard bottle ... 2008 . 11.5 % ... a very big bold brew .. tons of bitterness for a barleywine, but it really seems to work ... a bawdy little monkey ... wonderfully aggresive, like the starting feelings of domination ... not sure its worth it in the ceramic bottle but a very nice beer .. and even though this is a monster of a beer it really doesn’t seem overdone! .. Rogue: +1
