Pours a copper color with red hues, thin head. Aroma of some dried fruits, malts, hops and alcohol. Flavor was full and complex. Malts, raisin, toffee, hops and a warming alcohol to smooth things out. This was aged for over a year, so it wasn’t as bitter, but still packed a bit of a hop punch. Very delicious and intoxicating! jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Oct 10, 2007 26 oz ceramic bottle-pours a thin retaining tan head and light brown color. Aroma is dark malt-some sweet, dark fruit, slight alcohol. Taste is dark malt-some sweet/caramel/chocolate, then spice hops, dark fruit. A very malt barleywine/American SA. Assertive for a barleywine style, not my style. Sipping, OK carbonation. Thanks jwc215 for sharing. ux04 (30), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA Oct 6, 2007 Intense bitterness with a pleasant aftertaste. 750ml bottle purchased in Kalamazoo @ TIffany’s. Who knows how long it’s been on their shelf. I’m satisfied with this. hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Oct 2, 2007 on tap at the Hop Devil Grill. Deep amber/brown in color with ruby highlights at the bottom of the glass. Aroma is alot of caramel and toasted malts as well as PNW citrus hops. Taste is caramel, toasted malts, dark fruits, with a solid bitterness throughout. Full bodied. fro2218 (466), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Sep 27, 2007 A heavy bitter all American barley wine (style ale). The extra over the top bitterness from citrusy hops makes this a winner everytime. lordeche (397), Quincy, Massachusetts, USA Sep 25, 2007 Pours deep copper with no head. Aroma of caramel and toffee malts, extremely deep and almost chocolatey, with strong bitter hoppiness and a bit of alcohol. Flavor is extremely bitter, which is a very good thing. Nice malts balance this out quite well. Really robust beer, but somewhat two-dimesional, but both dimensions are money.
