Deep golden in color with a rich malty aroma. Delicately smooth and crisp flavor and an herbal finish. Oregon Golden Ale is created from Northwest Harrington and Klages, and Maier Munich Malts (18% speciality grains, .19 lbs grain per bottle). Kent Golding and Cascade hops.

From notes: decent golden ale, of course hoppier than most though quite mLt heavy as well for such a low abv beer. Finishes bittersweet.

9/7/2009 White Crane Bitter Saw this at the store the other day, and it called to me. Iím not sure what to expect as the label is in Japanese. Pours a slightly cloudy orange/amber with a big fluffy white head. Smells of citrus and floral hops, a bit of a mineral smell as well. Not much going on really in the nose. Taste is a little better with some sweet malts caramel and bread mixed up with some floral hops and that mineral tartness. Sparkling carbonation, sticky mineral-y mouthfeel, medium body. Iím not sure how old this bottle is or how it came to be available for sale in NH, but I bet its not as fresh as it should be. Nothing objectionable here, but really not up to what I consider the norm for Rogue.

Nice toffee nose, nut. Rich caramel malt, sweet orange, pudding, bittersweet finish. Definitely sweeter than bitter, strong caramalt character, a bit too sweet for me.

5% Bottle from Ezo Beer labeled White Crane Ale. A nice orange-gold pour with a thick off-white head. Citrus, juicy peach, yeasty aroma. The taste is fresh tropical fruits & rich caramel malts. Iím really digging the interplay between the hops & the malts-delicious. Bonus itís less than 450 yen!

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Tom L. As "Rogue White Crane Bitter Ale". Murky orange. Aroma of stale bread, cardboard, wort and rotten fruits. Flavor has stale malt and some bitterness. Light to medium-bodied. Seems way too old.

Bottle. Pours light copper with thin white head. Somewhat cloudy. Aroma is malt and banana. Malty flavour. Hop and herb finish, similar to coriander and basil

Had this in at least two guises, under this name and the name Shark Tooth Ale. Iím otherwise sympathetic to Rogue but all the renaming is bullshit. Anyways, a clean, clear pour with a firm head and crisp carbonation. Soft malts in the nose with mild herbal and floral notes, almost as if the brewers wanted to make a kolsch/pilsner cyborg. Earthy in places, bright in others, the beer failed to leave much of an impression.

UPDATED: APR 22, 2013 Aromas of nuts, caramel, toffee, subtle apricot, and earthy hops. Clear red-orange with a fading, beige head. Dry, slightly bitter, and with toasty malty flavors. Light body, low carbonation, and finishes cleanly with lingering caramel and earthy hop flavors.
