UPDATED: APR 22, 2013 Aromas of nuts, caramel, toffee, subtle apricot, and earthy hops. Clear red-orange with a fading, beige head. Dry, slightly bitter, and with toasty malty flavors. Light body, low carbonation, and finishes cleanly with lingering caramel and earthy hop flavors.

Medium gold color. Slightly cloudy, small head. Mild malts with a spicy hoppy character. Good flavor. Smooth taste. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. Tasty beer, light and refreshing, but enough hop bite to make it interesting.

Thanks to my brother for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is wheat, ginger, lemon, perfume and caramel. The flavor is wheat, orange peel, coriander, perfume and flowery hops, lemons and a low amount of bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Overall, this beer tastes like a hopped up Belgian White. Decent and somewhat drinkable, but nothing special.

Enjoyed from a 22oz bomber in a pub glass. The beer pours a medium golden color with a moderate white head. The nose shows notes of Munich malt and a general tendency toward continental malt notes. An earthy hop character comes through toward the end of the aroma. The palate is nicely malty in the approach and mid-palate, before showing a little more balance in the end-palate to the finish. The finish itself carries a pleasing residual sweetness, along with some earthy hop notes. Overall, a pleasing and nicely complex session beer. If only all golden blonde ales were this way...

650ml bottle "Jazz Guy Ale" Clear pale amber body, persistent off-white head. Aroma of medium-low intensity. I get some dried fruit and metallic spice (bit oxidised?). Caramel malts and earthy hops detectable, but disguised. Full bodied, good smooth, slick texture with medium carbonation. Toffee malts and mildly citrusy, earthy spice hops. Bit like a British bitter actually. Bitterness is relatively restrained, finish a bit lacklustre. Bit disappointing, but I think this may have been an old bottle. Reminds me a bit of James Squire amber ale otherwise, which makes it even wierder being apparently a Golden Ale!? Not bad either way, would like to have a fresh bottle next time.
