COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rogue’s annual holiday offering, Santa’s Private Reserve, is a variation of the classic Saint Rogue Red, but with double the hops--including Chinook, and Centennial, and a mystery hop called Rudolph by head brewer John "more hops" Maier! This holiday elixir is brewed with two-row Harrington, Klages and Munich malts, along with Hugh Baird 30-37, Carastan 13-17, and Crystal 70-80 malts, plus free range coastal water and proprietary top-fermenting Pacman yeast.

Came a across a sixer of this for 6.99 so figured hell why not, pours a nice deep copper with a nice two finger off white head that leaves some decent lacing, nose is full of pine and earthy hints with some citrus lingering in the background, taste pretty much follows suit with a nice bitter finish and medium palate, creamy in texture, not my favorite but all in all a solid beer ...cheers

Red fruit nose, rich roasted malt, dark caramel, orange, hints of cinnamon, bitter hoppy finish. Quite drinkable pale ale, not so xmas’ish though.

Bottle shared by kermis at the BeerTemple, thanks! Amber colored pour with white head. Aroma is hoppy, light citrusy character, some caramel, signature Rogue nose, biscuity. Taste is sweet, light bitterness, decent hoppy flavor. Palate is med bodied, light carbonation. A bit boring.

(Rogue Santas Special Reserve) 650 ml bottle into a snifter, ABV 6% Red ruby to amber colour on the body, tall and thick, long lasting off-white head, leaving medium lacing behind. Malty aroma with nites of caramel, red fruits, prunes, light raisins, plums. Nice taste, again red and dark fruits but also hops now, with light biscuit. Medium body with good carbonation, quite dry on the palate. Very good.

In the glass it has a copper amber color with a medium head. Aroma of pine, fruits and some floral notes. Taste has more floral notes along with some fruit and roasted malts. Medium body with a good finish.

12oz bottle from Mitsuya’s Liquor, Tokyo. Poured into a snifter. Hazy amber color with a modest pinkish head. Pine and bread aroma with malt coming through on the nose as well. Flavor starts off sweet from the malt and finishes a tad bitter. Nice carbonation.

Bottle. Dark amber light tan head that goes fast. Some spruce aroma mixed w the hop smell. Strong hop with some complexity in the middle w a dry lighter finish. Ok but I am not a hop fan. Nothing particularly seasonal, but that could just be because of the stronger hop. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
