12oz bottle-----> snifter. Pours ruby amber with a small white head and no lacing. Aroma is caramel malt and a little bit of resinous hop. Taste is spicy, malty, caramel, with a bit of a hop bite on the back end. Palate is smooth but not flat, kind of silky. This is a great beer.

22/V/15 - 1Pt. 6Fl. Oz. bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ Brazilian Tasting (home) - BB: IX/2015 (2015-677)
Clear deep amber beer, irregular beige head, little stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: malty, milk chocolate, caramel, fudge, bit fruity, very nice, smells like a barley wine to me. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty bitter, bit watery, some caramel, malty, hay, grains. Aftertaste: bitter, hay, dry, pretty grassy, hoppy, bitter ending.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
650 ml. bottle sampled @ “Brazilian Tasting”. Thank you tderoeck! Contains Rebel & Freedom hops. Lol! Plus half of the ingredients have trademarks. Dark amber, little head. Nose is orange, older pine resin & orange peel hops, old grapefruit peel, sweet malty, watery,… Taste is dull, sweetish & watery with old hops, watery, herbal, old orange peel, grapefruit peel,… Watery, dull & lightly sweet beer. Possibly due to age but if you call something reserve & release it as a Christmass beer it should keep, this one was obv. a hoppy beer and didn’t give (under the assumption that it was much better in the past), label should have stated that this needs to be drunk fresh.

Let me paint you a picture with my imagination brush: A big, beardy and drunken santa figure stumbles in and hands you a bottle. You take swig. Its not the true meaning of Christmas, but you know what he means. Big hops and a nice amber hue, it's got a crispness that I can smack my lips at. Well done again, Rogues, interesting brew, but cinnamon, clove and vanilla would be closer to a Santa-Ale.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured from a bomber into a pint glass.
Aroma- Has a pretty nice aroma of pine, malt and some citrus or floral hints.
Appearance- This is a nice looking dark amber with orange highlights, has a fairly thick tannish head.
Taste- the other shoe just dropped, I did not care for the flavor. I didn’t care for the mix of hops and citrus.
Palate- A medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation.
Overall- I just did not enjoy this beer, I will try it again next Christmas time to see if I was off that day.
