carruthm (431), Seattle, Washington, USA May 1, 2008 Pours a slightly cloudy red with a nice frothy white head that lingers for a bit and leave a little lacing behind. Aroma has hints of cherry and vanilla with some bitter and hops shining through on the taste.
lumpsowers (87), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA Sep 29, 2008 Very hoppy, floral alcoholic finish. Beautiful pour, thick head and lacing, dark copper color. Some dark fruits, raisins or dates, a little bitter for me. explosivebeer (35), Washington, USA Sep 25, 2008 Nice aroma of hops, caramel, and a little honey. Beautiful clear red color. Nice creamy, lasting head. Apparently Santa really likes his bitterness since this definitely leans that way, with only understated maltiness to balance it out. This has a decent lightly silky body. Overall I’d like this beer better if the bitterness didn’t dominate the experience. ucusty (1210), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Sep 17, 2008 bottle from 2007 and it was way past its prime. Amber pour with faint hoppy aroma. Mostly sweet malty flavor as the hops were no longer present, making this an unbalanced mess kiefdog (474), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 14, 2008 65cl bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a generally clear dark amber color with a two finger tan foamy head. Good retention and lacing. Aroma is generally floral and hoppy with notes of spice, sweet malt and ripe fruit. Flavor is sweet and citrusy with full notes of hoppy bitterness throughout. Generally light to medium body with a crisp, lingering hoppy, bitter finish. Ole_R (1279), Oslo, Norway Aug 30, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Dense, fluffy lightly tanned head. Beautiful lacework. Hazed, deep amber colored body. High aroma level; sweet caramellish, rummy and fruity.
