Frauditor (123), Hagerstown, Maryland, USA Dec 14, 2007 Poured a thick, rocky, tan head. Dark copper color with a plum hue. Sweet hoppy smell. taste was hoppy but not as much as the aroma led me to expect. tastes were: dark chocolate, malts, orange peel, and grapefruit. Would taste great with a hot bowl of chili on a cold winter day.
jkwalking05 (171), Arlington, Texas, USA Jul 26, 2008 Dark brown with a large head that quickly disappears. Hop aromas predominate slight caramel aroma. Copper in color with a decent head. Flavors of hops and spruce. esjaygee (721), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Jul 26, 2008 Clear copper with a rocky brown lacy head. Aroma of caramel, pine, citrus and floral hops. Taste of caramel, citrus hops and alcohol. Overly bitter finish that seems to lack the benefits. Swalden_28 (536), McKinney, Texas, USA Jun 26, 2008 Bottle, Kegs & Barrels in McKinney, TX.
Pours a nice clear amber with off-white head, good retention. Aroma of grapefruit and caramel malt....Flavor of obvious hoppy grapefruit with bitter with slight sweet malt.....Palate is med. carbonation and med-full body....Overall, this is an IPA with amber color......it’s pretty good. stankenk (24), Maplewood, Minnesota, USA Jun 20, 2008 Pours an amber brown color with decent creamy tan head. The nose is a little on the hoppy side. Very malty with a slight touch of carmel has a light hop finish that tapers off. phishpond417 (1360), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jun 17, 2008 This beer pours a dark maple brown colour with a huge creamy tan head. Nice roasted malts flavor, fairly sweet, with a strong alcohol scent. A soft touch of spice and carmel midway through the palate. Finishes with a strong spruce like hop flavor that I definately enjoyed.
