unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Aug 27, 2006 I picked up this bottle at the Brewery in 2004. Yellow in color. White head. Its an ok beer that seems to be missing something. adamnfineman (53), Springfield, Oregon, USA Aug 24, 2006 A cool bottle, like most every Rogue beer, but I was disappointed first by the weak aroma. The beer is slightly bitter as it hits the mouth, then finishes light and clean. I would say slightly below average on the Rogue scale. GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Aug 2, 2006 Draught. Clear dark golden color. The white head didn’t leave much lace. Smells of citrusy hops. Tastes similar with a touch a malty caramel. Dry and bitter on the tongue. Pretty good. Mickey1124 (1), Blue Grass, Iowa, USA does not count Jul 2, 2006 bitter, soft carbonation, thin feel, medium body, caramel, dough, golden, cloudy, aminimal head, white foam, medium bitterness, radiomgb (1923), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Jun 16, 2006 Bottle. Golden orange in colour, thin dissipating white head, nice lacing. The aroma is moderately hoppy, orangey, caramel malts, floral. The flavour has a good mix between floral and citrus hops, sugary sweetness, earthy. Sweet mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes bitter, citrusy, lingering. bfeldmann (1042), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Jun 15, 2006 "Surprised by this one. Poured a light brown color with okay head and good lacing. Aroma was of caramel malts and hops. Flavor was much more maltier then i expected for this style finished with a pine hops. Good beer. " SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Jun 13, 2006 In the bomber bottle from Council-tucky Hy-Vee. Pours a chill-haze rich gold with an oppulent white foamy head. Residual ring of lacing circumnavigates the glass. Aroma has a mild caramel and tea-like hop fragrance. Flavor has a medium hop bitterness that evolves into caramel then tartness and finishes with a divalent cation-like sensation on the tongue. Great medium bodied palate that renders the beer an easy drinker, but all else fails to meet my Rogue standards. MartinT (5030), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jun 13, 2006 Any first impressions?
-A ring resides atop the hazy pale orange.
-Aromatic hops are getting chalky because of the omnipresent yeast.
-Caramel maltiness lazily sticks to the orange pulp.
-The low carbonation makes the lean mouthfeel more obvious, but also emphasizes the lack of complexity.
What if you dig deeper?
-The yeast is taking a lot of room in the flavor profile, overpowering the feeble hop bitterness.
-Sugar and salt are sprinkled on the cantaloup fruitiness.
-The earthy, resinous, wooden hoppiness makes a decent show, but can’t excite.
-Had this bottle had a smaller yeast deposit, I might have enjoyed it more.
Bottle; no date.
