Draught. Clear dark golden color. The white head didn’t leave much lace. Smells of citrusy hops. Tastes similar with a touch a malty caramel. Dry and bitter on the tongue. Pretty good.

In the bomber bottle from Council-tucky Hy-Vee. Pours a chill-haze rich gold with an oppulent white foamy head. Residual ring of lacing circumnavigates the glass. Aroma has a mild caramel and tea-like hop fragrance. Flavor has a medium hop bitterness that evolves into caramel then tartness and finishes with a divalent cation-like sensation on the tongue. Great medium bodied palate that renders the beer an easy drinker, but all else fails to meet my Rogue standards.

Almost clear golden body topped by a little white ring. Surprisingly characterless beer coming from Rogue. Basic leafy hops, light citrusy notes, diluted caramel, shy cereals, mild bitterness, light body, soft carbonation. Not flavourful at all. Boring. Somewhere between a pale ale and a golden ale. No personality, doesn’t know what it is supposed to be and named after the only species where the male can become pregnant. Coincidence?

Bomber, acquired and split with BitBucket in an effort to dent Rogue/Issaquah/s inventory. This is a fine little pale ale, though I really do need to raise the temperature in the fridge in my shed: when frosty cold, this beer smelled and tasted like a pale lager. Nice herb-y, saaz-y hop on the nose, along with the faintest gesture at roastiness. The finish brings through some husky roasty malt, as well. As it warms, it picks up more c-hop, and takes on some life. The body’s light, and there’s a freshing, moderate blast of carb there to keep things effervescent and drinkable. A very solid, credible effort, though not the APA you’ll write home to mom about, by any means.

From the bottle pours a lightly hazed orange with a tall white head. The hops weren’t as floral as i was expecting, but the bitterness from them sure came through. I like the yellow snow much more, or at least i used to like the yellow snow, and i don’t really care for this one.

I get some hints of zesty lemon, a little sour hops, and some sweet bready malt. Cloudy gold/orange with a nice velvetty white head. Lots of upfront lemon. Pretty straightforward with the hops. Some grassy earthy notes as well. A little malt comes in on the back end, but the hop s dominate this one. There does seem to be that little bit of Rogue flavor here too. Medium body with a dry bitter lemon finish. Not the best APA, but pleasant nonetheless.

(Rating #869)

Bottle: Aroma of honey, grahm crackers, and malts. Small white head. No lacing. slightly hazy orangle; bubbles. Flavor of honey, malts, and just a little floral hops. A little buttery. Lightly sour with a yeasty sweetness that was like licking a lemon. Kinda ok, but kinda not. Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbination. Overall, not so hot, but drinkable in an emergency.
