Rogue’s Shakespeare Stout is ebony in color, a rich creamy head and a mellow chocolate aftertaste. It is made from Northwest Harrington, Crystal, and Chocolate malts, roasted barley and rolled oats, along with Cascade hop.

Bottle. A- Cocoa, malty, chocolate, roasty. A- Black color, black liquid, tan head. T- Cocoa, chocolate, coffee, oats, malty, slightly bitter. P- Medium body, thin texture, average carbonation, malty dry finish. O- A good stout, but a little thin on the body. The oatmeal made this really smooth and there was solid chocolate creamy flavors. Good, but just not quite full or rich enough for me.

Dark brown pour with frothy beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, rolled oats. Taste of roasted malts, unsweetened chocolate, hint of coffee, oats and faint lactose. Medium bodied, nice carbonation, soft mouthfeel, slightly bitter finish. Very good oatmeal stout.

Pours in black body with frosty brown head, quickly disspearing. Aroma has roasty, light chocolate notes, light vanilla. Taste is light roasty sweetness, medium noble bitterness. Body us light, medium carbonation. Not sure why so overrated, palate is far from complex, body just light.

Amazing stout, rich, creamy, and thick. Hints of nuts, grains and roasted coffee. If you like Stouts and Porters, you're gonna love this. If you want to share, buy a couple bottles because you're gonna want to drink a bottle to yourself!

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2014 Bottle: Jet black, no color, topped with a huge, dark-tan head made of fine bubbles that lasts for seemingly days; chunky lacing left behind. Aroma full of sweetness & roasted grains... small dose of ashy, leafy hops bite the nostrils. Light cocoa powder, smooth cut oats, & a current of creamy sweetness that ties everything together. Deep, robust flavor of heavily roasted malts, nuts, wood, bittersweet cocoa nibs & cocoa powder, & a hint of bitter espresso bean on the very back end. Strong hop presence; earthy, leafy, mildly floral, acting as a good malt offset. Nice creaminess from the oats, which are flavorful in the aftertaste. Lasting, lightly hop-bitter, earthy-cocoa finish. Might be the best beer I’ve had from Rogue.

UPDATED: MAR 10, 2014 Always a good choice. Roasted dark chocolate, light coffee, cream and toasted oats. Not the most complex flavors, but great flavors nonetheless.
