Rogue’s Shakespeare Stout is ebony in color, a rich creamy head and a mellow chocolate aftertaste. It is made from Northwest Harrington, Crystal, and Chocolate malts, roasted barley and rolled oats, along with Cascade hop.

Bottle at home. Black with a thin tan head. Rich chocolate malt with a nutty taste. Perfect sweet bitter balance and long finish. Lovely.

This is an absolutely beautiful beer, with a dark brown color and a creamy head. I found this to be a very pleasant and easy to drink beer.

Let’s start with this: this beer is not my favorite if we are talking stout in here. The beer is pitch black with medium carbonation/medium head. The aroma is on the milk chocolate side without the buttery factor that usualy indicates that you’re about to dive into a rich beer. In fact this beer has a very light body to it and you can’t feel the 6% ABV at all. Very well balanced, but yet to light for me palate.

From the bottle. Pours very dark brown, some head with lacing. Smells of sour, chocolate, molasses. Taste is creamy with notes of chocolate and molasses. Finishes a little sour, lingering aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Malty with subtle hoppy flavor. Notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Full taste without being really heavy. Makes a perfect birthday gift from your favorite red head. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Black. Aroma is dark chocolate, coffee grind, and roasted malt. The taste adds some hoppy bitterness. The mouthfeel highlights the oatmeal by starting thin and expanding to a thicker creamy texture. Carb is on the lively side with a rich finish. Damn good all around.

I have had this bottled and on nitro. This is hands down my favorite stout and I have had far more than my current ratings show. This beer has a roasted chocolate aroma that follows in flavor leading into notes of coffee and more roasted chocolate. This is well hopped in perfect balance with the roasty bitterness smoothed out by the oats. The perfect stout.

Pours a dark brown, almost black color with a rich brown head. Nice toasted malt flavor with a bit of chocolate. Aroma matches. Seemed a bit thin to me.

Poured from a bottle. Large Brown head that dissipates quickly, but a good lacing. Rich black color. Chocolate and oatmeal aroma. Delicious going down, deserves it’s high rating.
