22 oz. Extraordinary stout, full of flavor and mild roast. The chocolate rounds it out well & nothing is ever intrusive, smooth. Rogue in every aspect.

Black velvety pour with creamy tan froth atop. Roasted malts, bitter coffee, mild chocolate, hop bitterness. Good stuff, and great body for the ABV.

Pours a black from a tap. Nitro head like a moussey froth. Not much going on here, sweet milk stout. Abit of smoke. Meh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask at GBBF 2015, Olympia, London. A black coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, chocolate, slightly sweet. Nice stout but keg would have improved it.

Cask at GBBF 2015. It pours near black with a small light tan head. The nose is soft, bitter-sweet, rich chocolate, coffee, fudge cake and icing sugar. The taste is rich, bitter-sweet, oily, cocoa, toasty, coffee grounds, earthy roast, mild acidity, umami and liquorice with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Works pretty well on cask. Smooth and easy-going, but not a whole lot to it. Pretty enjoyable anyhow.

[cask, at the Great British Beer Festival 2015] - Rogue Ales and Spirits, Oregon, Shakespeare Stout, 5.8%. Dark brown, no head. Slightly sweetish aroma of vanilla chocoalte and mild coffee, oatmeal. Medium body, a bit watery still. Dark chocolate, licorice, vanilla and roasted malts at the start. Espresso in the middle, very bitter and the bitterness even increases in the finish. Really bitter espresso finish, with a bitter and sour coffee aftertaste. And that’s how they do it.

{from notes} Appearance: Dark brown/black pour, with a modest light brown head that all too quickly reduced to a thin and spotty cover. Smell: Medium + dark roasted malts overlaid with some spicy hops. Some oats, coffee and chocolate too. Taste: It seems that the brewer replaced some grains (oats and/or dark malts) with hops; this is clearly an AMERICAN stout. It has a moderately bitter finish, with a relatively bitter and near-burnt aftertaste. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body with mild carbonation. Has an unusual (for style) light crispness. Overall: A decent oatmeal stout, but disappointing for a stout made by Rogue. Certainly served too cold and deserving of a re-tasting. I know you feel my pain. ;)

An old fav. Silky with light finesse and some end acidity, there is smooth rich dark chocolate and a lightness of touch. Old schoolish in style and interesting reminder of what the early American craft beer was like before everything went extreme.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2015 day 1. Dark brown coloured pour with a lasting creamy light tan head. Aroma is toast, earthy mineral, charred wood, oyster. Flavour is composed of milky dark choc, earthy, dirt, oats and woody, little coconut character. Palate is medium, velvety. Smooth and medium bodied. Lingering woof and smooth roast.
