4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Poured a deep brown color with a thick beige head. Aroma is mixture of chocolate, roasted malt, hops and is very smokey. Flavor was very mixed and carried over from the aroma with a light touch of molasses in the background. Very well balanced and leaves the palate with a slightly sweet finish. Definately a nice brew.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Near flawless jet black body with a dense, well-sized pale brown head holding.
Excellent intensity on the nose; dark chocolate, baked cookies, porridge (in a good way, if that’s possible!?), soy sauce, orange & citrus, and woody hops.
Moderate carbonation, creamy texture with a full body.
Bit less intense on the body, but still plenty to enjoy; chocolate, caramel, orange, pine, dried leaves, touch of bread. Moderate bitterness on a medium-dry finish.
Really good stuff, sets the bar high for the Oatmeal stout!

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dry oatmeal stout with yellowish beige head and very dark brown, almost black colour. Strong coffee-like roasted malts in the nose, raisins, bitter chocolate, leather, tonic water, bayleaf... Taste roasted bitter from beginning to end, very full, creamy and oily mouthfeel, chocolate, dried plums, with a strong citrussy hop bitterness coming up in the end - too strong for this style, if you ask me. Otherwise very interesting, though.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice very dark brown body with modest but solid head. Aroma is heavy on the hoppiness, I’d prefer some more barley to shine through to remind me it’s a stout. Flavour is strong on the hoppiness with a hint of chocolate, some coffee. But those hops, they drown a lot of the nuance out. This was sampled at room temperature, perhaps with some chillin’ there would be less illin’.

Bottle. Pours a solid black color with a tan head and good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, bit of oatmeal and fresh grains. Taste of roasted malts, dark chocolate and oatmeal. Distinct bitterness and a dry finish. Full body, rich and creamy texture, with lots of character. This beer sets the bar for others to be compared to.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Chocolate cereals. Roasted malt, vanilla, coffee beans, bitter finish. Quite a strong bitter stout for a Rogue, rich roasted flavors but didn’t really do it for me.

I don’t see a date on the bottle, but the hops are still sharp. It pours like motor oil, and has no light penetration. It smells like a bitter espresso, with some nice malty sweetness in there. It has a bite of hop bitterness on the front of the mouth. Day-old, bitter coffee taste dominates. It gives a medium mouth-feel; very creamy and smooth. It finishes bitter, with lingering coffee bitterness. The hops are noticeable on the finish, adding to the dry, clean finish. This Rogue is well worth the try!
