Rogue’s Shakespeare Stout is ebony in color, a rich creamy head and a mellow chocolate aftertaste. It is made from Northwest Harrington, Crystal, and Chocolate malts, roasted barley and rolled oats, along with Cascade hop.

The beer has got a very dark, opaque brown body, with a rich brown head. Wonderful lacing and impressive head retention. A truly beautiful stout!

A pronounced earthy hoppiness really fights for the main role in the aroma. However, the strong roasted malt profile is still the dominant. Dark chocolate and coffee, with some toasted bread notes.

The taste is kind of coarse at first, with a very pronounced bitterness and coffee notes. However, after a few moments, it becomes much smooth and a bit more complex. It has a very rich roasted malt profile, with almost tobacco-like notes. Dark chocolate, espresso, a bit of licorice, and oatmeal. The finish is bitter and malty. As the beer warms up, you may get some nice sweetness and a smoother finish. Tasty, yet very roasty, so not necessarily a beer for all.

Medium-bodied. Some carbonation can be felt at first. No real feel of alcohol. Not the most pleasant mouthfeel, yet it is quite alright.

For such a hoppy and bitter stout, this goes down very well. I would not call this a session stout, but this is certainly very drinkable nonetheless.

1.5dl on tap at Craft & Draft, Amsterdam, Moor tap takeover. Nose is roasty. Body is black, head is big, brownish, creamy, mostly lasting, excellent lacing. Aroma is tobacco, smoked wood, dark chocolate, roasted malt, spices, ash. Light sweet, medium to heavy bitter. Finish is long lasting roasty and hoppy medium to heavy bitter. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Easy dessertish beer, very unique, very tasty, such a strong flavor with this ABV is amazing, great one.

Looks like a million bucks. Deep opaque reddish brown with cookies and cream milkshake head. Coffee, soy sauce (props to below), licorice, toasted malts on nose. Chocolate, coffee (tastes like roasted coffee smells), oats, roasted barley. Lighter mouthfeel with creamy texture. Lingering finish with coffee bitterness. Very, very nice.

35.5cl bottle split with SimonBlok, cheers for that. Pours a colour as black as my ex-girlfriends soul with a decent beige head which diminishes to a even thin layer. Aroma of oatmeal, soy sauce, caramel, coffee beans. Taste is fairly sweet, medi bitter with a dry bitter finish. Notes of caramel, coffee, peated malts, chocolate. Texture is oily to sticky, medium to full bodied with decent carbonation.
