DeadGuyFrank (316), http://westchesterbeer.com, USA Feb 17, 2008 Updated: Mar 15, 2008 Super awesome stout! There I have said it, from the first moment I tasted this I knew it was just the stand-out beer that all the other beer lovers gushed about for so long.
The definition of the stout style. Cascade hops and chocolate malt blend together into something so tasty I brings beer to level it should be - an artform. Solid and stouty - a gem.
mbgrayson (41), Anaconda, Montana, USA Jul 23, 2008 This was a solid, high quality stout. Dark off white head, small. Pours a pure black with just a hint of brown. A review won’t do the mix of flavors justice. Starts with a strong coffee with a touch of something, maybe licorise? Hints of chocolate and earth. I liked this one, and it is a thumbs up if you like a good stout beer. ditmier (155), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 20, 2008 NITRO @ Bittercreek - Poured dk black with a small tan head, incredibly smooth and creamy courtesy of the nitro tap...aroma is burnt grain, hops, dark malts...flavour followed, terrific balance of burnt bitters and brown sugar malts...i dug this on nitro, will need to retry in a bottle... nathan30533 (21), Dahlonega, Georgia, USA Jul 20, 2008 Pours very dark with light brown/white head. Taste of chocolate and malt. Not really overwellming oats flavor. Good smell, but again not overwellming. Smooth palate and an overall great stout from Rogue. halstokes (12), USA Jul 14, 2008 A pretty nice stout but it has the same problem as all other Rogue beers. To me the aftertaste is needlessly bitter. Yeah it’s full flavored, but when the strong flavor it bitter you wish is wasn’t so full flavored ysusi (10), Mexico, Mexico Jul 8, 2008 Really dark brown colored, no light goes through. Creamy beige head. Aromas of chocolate, coffee and some vanilla. Tastes like dark chocolate, burnt malts. Pretty close to full-bodied. Strong espresso finish. Great dry stout.
