Raytailgater (105), Rockledge, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 16, 2002 Rogue couldn’t make a lousy beer if it tried. One of my favorite breweries ever. I catch them every year at an event called...Sippin by the river in Phila. PA Great beer fdrom Oregon.
yalnikim (665), Wellington, New Zealand Oct 11, 2008 Tasted 05/10/2008. 22oz bottle fron a good friend. Pours black with an airy dark tan head. Grassy dry hops and strong pluger coffee on the nose at first, followed by a faint whiff of citrus fruit and pine-like resin. Smells fry and hoppy, and it is. Dark coffee-like roast barley dominates the flavour, with a good dose of west coast hop flavour through the middle, and an off-dry supporting base malt. Resinous hops and charred toast finish things off nicely. Really nice, and would be superb with a touch more sweetness - I reckon it would have that if it were a little fresher. RunDWP (180), San Jose, California, USA Oct 11, 2008 22 oz. bottle. Pours a jet balck, foamy head, that dissipates in a few minute. Roasty, coffee aroma. Flavors of roasted malt, coffee, and some molassas sweetness as it warms up. Mighty fine stout. darn1207 (335), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Oct 10, 2008 bomber. dark brown pour with a big brown head that dissipates quick like. aroma of smoke, dark chocolate and coffee. first impression is that it’s really hoppy for a stout. burnt malt, caramel and chocolate in the taste. nice long tinny bitter finish. just a tad bit watery-er than I like for the style. but it’s a pleasure overall and as drinkable as it gets. K8.5 marcus (1055), Sacramento, California, USA Oct 10, 2008 This dark brown ale poured with a decent beige head and a delicate chocolate malt aroma. There is a smooth roasted malt flavor with a sour tinge and a dry chalky finish. This is a nice hearty stout that is tasty but not overbearing. nbutler11 (218), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Oct 7, 2008 Pours a murky black from the bomber with a firm brown head that leaves plenty of lacing. Loaded with cocoa and malts on the nose with notes of milk cocoa, hops, barley, and oatmeal in the flavor. Flavorful, but not particularly balanced or ambitious.
