Madsnp (139), Odense C, Denmark Mar 18, 2008 Bottle. Pours black with a nice and foamy lightbrown head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt and some coffee. Lovely creamy palate. Flavours of liquorice, oatmeal, chocolate and some bitter hops. Well brewed i must say..
nbutler11 (209), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Oct 7, 2008 Pours a murky black from the bomber with a firm brown head that leaves plenty of lacing. Loaded with cocoa and malts on the nose with notes of milk cocoa, hops, barley, and oatmeal in the flavor. Flavorful, but not particularly balanced or ambitious. TheGrandMaster (1486), Auckland, New Zealand Oct 5, 2008 Bottle (in NZ) courtesy of yalnikim, pours black with a foamy brown head. A floral hop aroma with a hint of molasses in the malt. The roasted malt palate is a bit grainy, with some coffee flavour. The finish is, dare I say it, a little thin and metallic. Still good, but I don’t quite see it as high as the ratings here indicate. carruthm (431), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 4, 2008 on tap at hopvine
