Aroma – Nice dark malt with a light amount of hops.
Appearance – Dark brown color, Nice thin head and clear.
Flavor – Tons of dark malt and hops flavor this was a great Schwarz bier.
Palate – Great Mouthfeel, Awesome texture with a good dry finish.
Overall – What a wonderful fid for the night. This beer was at the top of the list and wow what a flavor. This was a wonderful beer. A total surprise to find I was for sure there would not be a new beer here at the Eastside. What a great day.

Bottle-Deep dark brown with reddish hues letting light through. Head is fluffy and off white. Nutty, malty, roasted toffee nose with a pile of hops and fruit. Fruity flavour profile with roasted nutty caramel malts alongside adequate hopping. Coffee and milk chocolate towards the finish with lots of hops to balance. An interesting experiment.

A big beer. Like a roasty IPA, lots of west coast hops, caramel, citrus. Viscous mouth. Boozy. Thought this was a Scottish.

black, thin fine tan head, thick lace, rich malt aroma with a good chocolate character and floral hops fighting to get through, flavor is a perfect match for the aroma, creamy body a bit thin at first but appropriate for a lager, long lasting bitter finish with a too much burnt black patent malt that keeps it from being a superstar

Pours dark amber and gives a decent sized head. The aromas of fruit from the hops rolls into a nice bitter hop like chracter. The finish shows some decent bitterness as well.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2007 Sampled on draft at Mad Mex in State College PA this beer poured a black color with a small creamy khaki head. The aroma was sweet, roasty and hoppy. The flavor was bitter with a noted floral and fruity presence and a light roasty malt undertone with hints of dry chocolate on the finish.

"Rogue Black Bitter". Pint at the Drafting Room Spring House. Clear, dark reddish-brown body with a cottony tan head. Prominent fresh hop profile with notes of mango and resin, plus roasty cigar notes. Flavor has tobacco and burnt fruit characters and is fairly dry with substantial hop and roast bitterness. Somewhat astringent. A very hoppy black ale, like a DIPA meets a Schwarzbier. Different, but I’m not crazy about the synthesis here.

This beer is so cool to pour! The body mixes with the foam to form a creamy looking concoction. In color it is medium brown with a light tan head. Nose is fruity citrus hops. First flavor is tart hops, grapefruit, and pine. Bitterness comes very late, almost to the end of the glass. I kept waiting for some malt to come through but it never did.
